Hi... I've never really opened up about my PTSD to anyone. I never knew how to explain it nor knew what it was. I realized I have triggers, but never defined them as trauma until a few years ago. For me it stems from childhood back in my family household; my father's alcoholism, and my first relationship

How long before ablation to start Edoxaban?
Morning all. There seems to have been a flurry of recent posts about anticoagulants. And here’s another question from me. Does anyone know how long before my ablation I need to take the Edoxaban I’ve been prescribed? I know some years ago, when preparing for a cardioversion, they said to take the anticoagulant

PTSD versus CPTSD
the DSM does not recognise CPTSD as a diagnosis. Here in NZ if you have PTSD from multiple trauma it is diagnosed as such. I’m interested in other countries interpretation of the diagnostic DSM manual and why they diagnose CPTSD as opposed to PTSD from multiple trauma. A psychiatrist, I believe is

Any relation between CLL and Atherosclerosis
Hi All, I am in CLL remission for three years and had a stroke in June, 2023. The diagnosis is Atherosclerosis and since June the arteries in my brain have further occluded. Based on my lifestyle and physical condition Atherosclerosis was the furthest thing on my mind. My question is whether others have

Thank you for your replies to my previous post. I really appreciate people sharing their experiences with me. Hi I’ve been suffering from haemorrhoids for a few months. It’s been getting better very gradually by eating a very high fibre diet to keep my stool very soft. But this has had the side effect of causing urgency several times a day. It’s making it very difficult to leave the house. I’ve had ibs for

How do you take a double dose of desogestrel?
Hello, my gynaecologist has recommended I double the dose of my mini pill to try and reduce pain and stop my constant bleeding. I've struggled to find information on the best way of doing this - am I best taking one every 12 hours (eg. One at 9am and one at 9pm) or am I better off taking 2 at the same

As I promised, I am going to document my journey as I have done before. Now it is hemodialysis. Holy mackerel. I make trying to suppress EBV a leg of my supplement strategy.
I replied to a comment with this comment, then decided to share it as a post also:
As somebody who has been exposed to EBV (mono), I make trying to suppress EBV a leg of my supplement strategy. I need to write up everything I think helps with EBV, but here is a short list: -

Triggers for AF
I have been getting AFIB 30% of the time when i was wearing a 14 day heart monitor.I was already taking Apixaban 5mg and Soltalol 40mg twice a day. I had Pulmonary embolisms in March 2023 from a DVT in my lungs. I am 52 years old and had good fitness until the DVT struck. I had been drinking red wine

Hi don't know if this is of any interest to anyone ,but my INR has always been impossible to stabilize My heamatologist suggested taking a small dose of vitamin K and increasing the warfarin dose I didn't do this as don't want to be taking any more supplements, So I decided to massively increase my intake

Rituximab experience?
Hi all. I have had large vessel vasculitis for over three years which, despite several different treatments, is proving difficult to control. An FDG PET CT scan last November showed some inflammation in all areas of my aorta still. I have just started Rituximab infusions. This has made me feel even more

PTSD, Anxiety, ADHD??
I think I fit into several categories on these forums. For me they are all one in the same. My anxiety has led to PTSD, both PTSD and Anxiety have magnified my ADHD. Or was it the other way around? Untangling which one happened first is hard to say. Now, I am in a support group for substance use disorder
