How do you take a double dose of desogestrel?

Hello, my gynaecologist has recommended I double the dose of my mini pill to try and reduce pain and stop my constant bleeding. I've struggled to find information on the best way of doing this - am I best taking one every 12 hours (eg. One at 9am and one at 9pm) or am I better off taking 2 at the same time every 24 hours? I'm not sure if it even matters but he didn't specify and I want to be in with the best chance of it helping! I'd be interested in your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

I just take 2 at the same time. But this was my own idea taking them at different times of day makes it easier to forget the odd dose. I can't imagine it makes much difference....

That makes sense! I think I'll do the same. Thanks for your response:)

Double dose doesn't stop your bleeding and pain. I try this when I 24 years old. Mini pill does not stop my problem. So I change my doctor then another doctor prescribed combination pill. endometrium shrink completely for me five years ago during double dose of mini pill.

I can't take the combination pill unfortunately due to risk of blood clot. I've heard mixed things about taking both types of pill so I'm glad you've found one that works for you!

Nikilll it depends on the person. Just because it didn't work for you, doesn't mean it's not going to work for anyone else.

Actually, double dose made wonders in my case. I got my life back, no period and no more pain.
