I've been getting injections for 5 years now. Now I am faced with eliquis. I had a pulmonary embolism and now have to take blood thinners. I don't know what to do.

Check with your consultant as you may not have to stop the injections. Good luck!

I’ve been on blood thinners for six months and have carried on with injections as usual. Consultant said there is no problem whatsoever. I would def check with your own consultant though

I have been on blood thinners since 2012 and have been receiving injections the entire time. I concur that you should check with your doctors but my retina specialist and cardiologist had no issues. My eyes have remained stable. Thoughts and prayers…

Hi Linduh. Sorry to hear of your blood clots and treatment. I was in the same position and very worried about a bleed in the eye but was advised it would very probably be OK. This has proved correct. I have both eyes injected every 3 - 4 months and have had no bother whatsoever since. I have now been 2 years on Xarelto which is much the same as your Eliquis. Try not to worry and I send you all good wishes.

I had a BRVO| as a result of a first episode of AF in 2017, so I v'e been on Edoxaban ever since, and Eylea injection the same length of time, with no issues. Always best to check, but I'm sure you'll be fine!
