My orthopedic surgeon told me OxyContin would be ok for pain for a couple of weeks. I knew Tramadol wouldn’t suffice for pain. The Oxy has helped a

Knee replacement - biologics
Had an appt with knee consultant today. Need a replacement done but he won’t commit to doing it until I get a ‘meds plan’ from my rheumatologist re biologics (I’ve recently started on Amgevita). He wants info on how long before surgery to stop taking it. I’m also on Methotrexate and Sulphasalazine but

Advice Please
Hi everyone. I have had 16 gynaecological operations starting at aged 13 and ending 23 years ago a day before my 40th birthday when I had an emergency hysterectomy where for some reason they left my cervix. Following my op they tried HRT but my BP shot up so I was taken off it. Urinary incontinence

A year down the line and no further forward
Hi all, I was diagnosed around a year ago with hypothyroidism after weeks and weeks of dieting and exercising like mad with no results. I was dieting to get in shape for a knee replacement. My GP did blood tests which she described my thyroid as being “in my boots”. I started on 50mcg daily and

I need a break
Hi!, It's been a while. Anyway, here it is. First of all, I love my little sister. I always have and always have, but I need a break from her. There I said it. That was hard for me. Anyway, I share an apartment with her and her 2 daughters. We are mostly fine, but sometimes I feel like the "other

Surgery completed!
I had my complete knee replacement this morning and was home 6 hours later, have just a small amount of pain but the block is still on. Lost just 200 mil of blood. Now, on to recovery and knee exercises!

PMR & Osteoarthritis in Knees
I have been added to the waiting list for knee replacement. I am trying to loose weight which I feel will help the pain in my knees. They can be very stiff some days and difficult to bend and I do get pain in the back of my thighs and shin splint pain too. I wonder if this is part of PMR ? I would hate

right knee replacement
It’s been a slow trip fighting arthritis on top of recurring PCA. Still on a Lupron vacation. Osteopenia cleared up after 21 months with only bicalutamide, T rose to 226, and PSA has stayed less than 0.1. I finally have a new knee! It‘s painful but every night is a bit better than the night before

Good morning, I hope that you had a restful and not too painful night 🤗I am very stressed in this period as the instability of not knowing what's going to be is making my fibromyalgia flare up so much. I need your help and advice if possible. I had my PIP Review a few days ago, still waiting their decision

Feeling baffled
Hi all - new to this forum so will give you a bit of history because I wonder whether there are any others out there who have been diagnosed like me, but are not suffering any related symptoms? After having a series of scans I was amazed to be told I have severe Aortic stenosis and severe triple-vessel

knee replacement
I see my liver doctor again in January and if all goes well I’ll have knee replacement surgery in Feb. it’s taken me awhile to decide because I was worried about the impact post op that anesthesia and pain meds might have on my liver. My lab numbers have remain within normal range for the past 2

Surgery and Pred?
I am due to have a knee replacement fairly soon - I met someone else with PMR yesterday and she asked me whether I intended to increase my dose of Pred prior to surgery. I'd not thought about this and I hope it's not necessary. Can anyone advise? Thank you.

Recent RLS Diagnosis
Hi All, So glad I found this site. It has already been so helpful! I developed RSL after recent arthroscopic knee surgery. From what I have read on this site the RSL started due to the emetic included in the anesthesia. I don't understand why the RSL was triggered at this particular time, and

I’ve been put in the waiting list to have a
total
knee
replacement
and the waiting list is approx 6 months. I’m on 17.5 mgs of pred. The surgeon has said my healing might be slow because of the pred. Had anyone else had a knee replacement while on a higher dose of pred?
