And I thought I had a full plate-

Well we went in today for his fourth pluvicto dose. Went mostly well but he’s been weak lately and had a few bumps in the road but that’s a story for another day.

While I was waiting I met two other people who were getting treatments. One was getting his first pluvicto dose today. The second one was getting radiation treatment but is a candidate for pluvicto once he gets approval from his insurance.

Well each of their caregivers had story that makes you feel humbled. Funny thing was they were both named Becky. So every time the nurses came out and called for Becky they both answered.

Well Becky1 was there to support her hubby for his 1st dose. And drive him home. This surprised me because she was an amputee. Turns out while she’s taking care of him she needed knee replacement surgery on both knees. Unfortunately she got a MRSA Infection so needless to say she lost her leg and saved her life. She laughed and said because it was the left leg. She could still drive. I told her about this site and she said she would be joining us soon.

Now Becky2 wasn’t as talkative but her brother in-law gave us a quick synopsis- she has been a caregiver for both parents, him and soon her sister who was in surgery for breast cancer, the same time he was there for the radiation treatment.

Anyway because of this site I was able to help at least one person with their journey. Thank you everyone.

This sure is a blessing but I wish i knew about it earlier. I always tell cancer patients to look healthunlocked up.

Yes, I only found this site two months ago…I ghosted for some time but then I thought I shouldn’t hide. 5 years is a long time ago but now I’m hoping for another 5🤞

How is the Pluvicto working for you? I get my first injection next week. I had one dose of an experimental Lu177 drug in a clinical trial last year and it didnt seem to work so great. Not sure why they think Pluvicto will be different, but going for it anyway.

Not sure yet. The PSA has been bouncing around but the nurse said they don’t worry about it. I asked after the third dose if they were going to scan hubby again before they gave him next dose (per what I read here). But she said no. The scan after the third dose was only used in clinical trials. They said he will be scanned after finishing the series. Needless to say I am a bit confused but they have a good reputation for medical care. Best of luck to you. Hope this time is the winning ticket 😁

I was scanned before third treatment and before 5th treatment. Sure think it would be good to know if it's working or not. It's worked well for me so far. Last scan showed only one faint area of cancer. PSA is undetectable. I am on Medicare and they paid for the all the scans. I would ask your Mo again about a scan.
