Hashimotos - inflammatory arthritis - hydroxychloroquine
Hi I have Hashimotos and a multitude of other ‘little conditions’ as you’ll all know. My main pain atm is my swollen finger joints. Due partly to covid I just had useless phone consultations with a rheumatologist and his locums. All saying you have osteoarthritis take an aspirin. Then a couple of months

Tennis... Elbows....anyone...? Sudden onset..?
As mentioned earlier...my Neurophysiologist identified nerve damage in my feet just before Xmas. But looking back ..my symptoms sequence (over two years now) seemed to start with increasing fatigue, hot hands, then bizarrely - tennis elbow in my right arm. This "spread" to left arm two months later

Prednisolone advice
Hallo I've got moderate asthma and have got quite a nasty chest infection. Today a GP prescribed some antibiotics and Prednisolone. I am struggling with my peak flow at the moment. Usually can manage 350 but at the moment struggling between 250 and 300( female). Accept I probably do need steroids but

Methotrexate
I did not accept methotrexate after reading other people's bed ridden experiences, I continued with prednisolone, I am now a lot better and off steroids after 5 years.

Leflunomide and tapering prednisolone for GCA, advice please
I was diagnosed with GCA in September this year and started on 30mg of prednisolone based on half a mg per kg of body weight. This seemed to be lower than some of the recommended starting doses such as that used by Dr Mukhtyar in Norwich but rheumy not too pleased when I said this! I was asked to reduce

On Monday I had my FeNO test. It was with the really good asthma nurse at the surgery. There was a suggestion I could replace my Fostair 200/6 with the Forstair !00/6 so that I could be more flexible. At present I use half the dose in summer, full dose in winter. I am well, have been remarkably so for

Reducing steroids
Hi. I have a nasty chest infection and difficulty in breathing. Went hospital. 40mg steroids for 3 days and an antibiotic called Doxycycline. As I had reduced my steroids for PMR and GCA to 8mg a day, I was wondering if I should keep to 8mg a day after the last day of 40mg? I forgot to ask the doctor

Will it be 3rd time lucky with my 3bb!?
Well girls, after a 7 month wait from my last transfer, I had my third transfer today! It's our 4th embryo on board - this time I've had a sis scan, scratch and steroids added into the mix. Mcdonalds fries have been eaten and I'm resting up for the rest of the week! Embie was a 3bb and thawed well

I was started on these steroids when I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis nine years ago. After a couple of months on doses up to 30mg. My symptoms went away and I was taken off all medication, big mistake. A few months later the MG came back with a vengeance and I was hospitalised for 10 weeks. The

I am so pleased that I saw a consultant who wanted my sight to improve not be stable. She offered me Ozurdex and said it could give me cataracts. GCA or not ……..
Good evening, I am after your thoughts and advice please. I had a drs appointment this afternoon to discuss re-starting steroids after a recent flare up. I haven’t been on steroids since August. Whilst I was there I mentioned that I have had a strange intermittent headache around my left eye and temples

Thinning skin
I have had PMR now for 3 years and have reduced Prednisone to 5mg albeit with some stiffness. My concern is now with my skin. I am 75 and probably considered thin so not sure if it is just old age but my skin is now like tissue paper and every time I bump into something or open the skin I end up with

Hi Guys, I joined this community because we have a couple of issues going off here. My Wife has had operations for Chrohns . This has left her with a vitamin B12 deficiency, extreme tiredness etc. She was previously prescibed monthly B12 Intramuscular injections. Our GP has changed this to bi-monthly
