Shoulder op & pain in (quicker to type everywhere) 😉 you might need a coffee or tea to read this as I do tend to write war & peace 🙄🤣
Hi everyone Around the beginning of October I started getting pain in my hands that was worse at night, it then got worse with pins & needles in my fingers, my little finger, middle finger & thumb are the worse, I also started to struggle walking when getting out of bed as I couldn't bend my feet or

Recurring head injury pain
Hello. Has anyone had recurring pain following head injury? If so, how did you deal with it? Also, are there any natural remedies for pain from head injury? I had a road traffic accident at the age of 6 that permanently broke off a large portion of my skull and had many side effects. Some time ago

recent blood test shows low cortisol and high triglycerides-advice on further tests or treatment to discuss with endocrinologist
Hi all, I have recently been to see an endocrinologist who has agreed to prescribe t3 on the provision that all other results are ok on my recent blood test as my conversion on t4 to t3 is very low. The results have shown a suspected cortisol deficiency along with high triglycerides. I have also started

Five year old non stop dry cough
I'm at the end of my tether. Our five year old has had 7 asthma "flares" since starting school in September. The asthma nurse tells us we have to manage these with ventolin. They last three to four days, he coughs absolutely non stop, gets out of breath talking and doesn't sleep. They refuse to prescribe

Update
It's been a few days since I last posted. I've got 2 days of antibiotics left and I finished my second course of steroids yesterday but still feeling really poorly. My chest keeps getting really tight and I'm coughing a lot, my chest was relatively clear when my Dr listened and my Sat's were 98. I don't

What to do if dry air is a trigger?
Hi. I haven’t traveled since before the pandemic and when I did travel I had a flare. I needed to take a prednisone pack in order to breathe and keep away from the hospital on my trip. I’m thinking about traveling again and wondering if from now on I will need to take steroids when I travel somewhere

Covid vaccines for encephalitis survivors
I know we all have a right to make our own decisions, but my nightmare experience with Covid means I think vaccinations are important for encephalitis survivors . I had Covid in 2020, before the vaccines were available . I developed a severe cough that made my chest so tight that I couldn’t

Advice pleaae
Hi hopefully someone give me some advice or reassurance. I’ve suffered with IBS for along time, several years ago I developed acid reflux, had an Endoscopy which confirmed some scarring, given medication which in most has helped. Fast forward 8/9 weeks ago I developed a barking cough for about 16/18

Ectopic Beats or Something More?
I thought it might be interesting to tell of my recent experience following my 6th covid booster. I have had a long history of experiencing ectopic beats...first diagnosed almost 40yrs ago when I was in my 20's. The cardiologist at the time explained that they are simply extra beats that can feel quite

I am better!
Dear Dorset Lady, I developed PMR at New Year 2020. I was put on 15 mg Pred and I have 'stuck to the script' since then. I was warned that I was border line diabetes when I started on the Pred and sure enough, I soon became diabetic, probably because of the steroids. I also had AF (Atrial Fibrillation

pain killer use with methotrexate
I wonder if anyone can help? I had a flare last week and was told by the nhs to take ibruprofen and paracetamol to help every 4 hours. But I’ve just taken my weekly dose of methotrexate (7 tablets) and wondered if I can take these pain killers on the same day as the methotrexate? When I looked it up

Hallo I've got moderate asthma and have got quite a nasty chest infection. Today a GP prescribed some antibiotics and Prednisolone. I am struggling with my peak flow at the moment. Usually can manage 350 but at the moment struggling between 250 and 300( female). Accept I probably do need steroids but

Methotrexate
I did not accept methotrexate after reading other people's bed ridden experiences, I continued with prednisolone, I am now a lot better and off steroids after 5 years.

Leflunomide and tapering prednisolone for GCA, advice please
I was diagnosed with GCA in September this year and started on 30mg of prednisolone based on half a mg per kg of body weight. This seemed to be lower than some of the recommended starting doses such as that used by Dr Mukhtyar in Norwich but rheumy not too pleased when I said this! I was asked to reduce

Asthma and Covid Experiences Please!
Hi, so after feeling pretty rubbish yesterday with a sore throat, spiking temp and barking sounding cough, today I have tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow after avoiding the damn thing for 3 years! I have asthma, so am understandably worrying! I am waiting for a call back from GPs as my peak
