Adalimumab - does it need tapering?
Does adalimumab need to be tapered like steroids ? Or can one stop it if the desired effect of bringing down the inflammation is not achieved?

Covid/ Prednisolone
So after avoiding it for almost 3 years, Covid has finally struck. I tested positive on Tuesday. At present have a bad head cold, aches and pains and yesterday a high temperature. This evening a cough has started. My concern now is that in the first week of January I needed a 5 day course of prednisolone

Frustration
I find it hard when people say that they know someone who has been taking prednisolone for polymyalgia for 16 years with no side effects. The person involved is currently on 5mg prednisolone and her brother is on 8 mg. When I enquired why they haven’t tried to reduce to zero steroids the reply was

A giant cell arteritis suffer
A giant cell arteritis suffer on methotrexate and prednisolone. Has anyone been on this combination as well? How long did it take you to get off the steroids as i'm still on 4mg as struggling to get off them as symptoms keep returning once I reduce down any further.

CRP and treatment
Sorry it's me again with a question about CRP levels now. My first pre-treatment blood test CRP =81 (Apr2022). After steroids and naproxen my level was down to 6. Started on MTX end Oct and CRP level remained low (as far as I know) though I did have to have another steroid course over Dec because of

I’m scared
I have been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and my consultant is saying that my most recent scan suggests more scaring than they previously thought . I need to stay on steroids now for longer and then reduce more slowly. My blood tests are all good and I feel well but this has scared me . I should

Pred 'the controlled drug' update
Just to let you know... It's taken a couple of weeks, but at long last I have had a return call from the manager at my Surgery. She was very apologetic about the information given by the receptionist and explained its likely there's been a misunderstanding, probably due to so many chest infections being

undiagnosed, any suspicions/advice welcome
sorry I know no one can advise diagnosis as not clinical but just looking for suggestions and advice for when I see the cardiologist team. For two weeks I’ve been breathless, feeling unwell with lightheadedness when my heart rate goes too high, feeling sick, extremely exhausted. I’m asthmatic and

swollen feet
hi all I’ve had fm for about 8 years, probably longer but wasn’t aware of fm before that, but recently my feet have been very swollen, I’m taking steroids at the moment because I have COPD , the swelling has started to go down, but I wondered if any one has suffered with this because of fm

My daughter is constantly in and out of ED unable to breath with asthma and stridor she is currently on steroids and doxycycline
My daughter has a long history of problems related to her breathing when she gets to the emergency department she has 100% oxygen yet she is struggling with a tight chest this sometimes turns into stridor which after having nebs seems to go after about an hour. Doctors often say its anxiety that causes

Adalimumab & Fatigue
I started on Amgevita (Adalimumab) in mid-December after 6 wobbly years on Methotrexate (15mg injection). Disease activity was increasing but other drugs tried made me unwell. Steroids worked well but not sustainable. I eventually agreed to get onto biologics with some trepidation. I’ve had 4 doses

Prednisone roller coaster ride over...and stable.
I think it was Bette Davis that said, "Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride." or something like that. I take anticonvulsants though I've been seizure free for 48 years. Anticonvulsants and prednisone do not like each other....the prednisone waters down the anticonvulsant and your brain feels like

Vertigo and PD?
I found a 2021 study with this: Conclusion: Prodromal otological symptoms might be associated with a reduced risk of motor progression in PD. Anyone know how often vertigo is a sign of PD? Last few days I've had small bouts of vertigo. Without warning the room begins to swim. Or rather it rotates

Biologics
Hi everyone I phoned the nurse help line before Easter and found they are going to put me on the biologic Etanercept and I was told I’d get a telephone appointment and that it would be Sciensus delivering the injections. My blood tests have all come back, no sign of TB, but positive for Zoster which

Hello Has anyone had problems with the Formoterol in Fostair MART therapy (100/6) x 1-2 puffs x 2 daily. I was changed over to this in August last year as was not fully controlled on Clenil/SABA. When I started it i had a mucus cough and was reviewed a month later and put on A/Bios as it was considered

Last November 2022, after a referral from my GP, to the hospital Rheumatologist, I was given a working diagnosis of Polymyalgia. I had experienced shoulder problems since 2019, and been treated with steroid injections, intensive physio, and Prednisolone, but throughout 2022, things had got really severe
