Follow up to my last post about nausea & unable to eat.
Hi again folks. I posted 16 days ago about feeling weak, nauseous & being unable to eat plus my reluctance to go to A & E as I'd been with similar symptoms just a couple of weeks before. However, I did go to A & E where I was admitted after a blood test confirming low sodium levels (again) and a really

MART (maintenance as reliever therapy)
Hi, I’m just wondering if MART should work for most people? We’ve tried it recently (I say we because me and my GP have a good relationship and typically we work together on things like a team) and it didn’t help much. However I’m currently in the middle of a flare up (thank you cold weather + chest

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

Swollen lymph nodes in neck
Hello everyone. This feels like a bit of a random question. I am taking Fostair 200/6 and have developed swollen and tender lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. I have no other symptoms of any infection. Could this be linked to the steroid inhaler? I haven’t contacted the doctor yet as I was waiting

Hello, This is my first post but i have been an avid reader every day and have learned so much. I was diagnosed having PMR in September 2023 by my GP who recommended I take 15 mg of Prednisolone daily to see if his diagnosis was correct. To my surprise and amazement, I became pain free which was a miracle

which steroids and what dosage.
Don’t know if the steroid Dexamethosone would be appropriate for brain cancer but your doctor should know. It is given to me every 21 days at Docetaxel chemo infusion for PCa and absolutely eliminates pains. Can last for 12-18 hours. Ask your doc about it. Mike Seattle

hello I’m looking after my elderly uncle. His wife passed on and shortly after that event he was diagnosed with PMR. He’s had it 3 & half years now. He’s struggling and no other family to help as all live in Canada. so. Should he see a specialist and if so what sort of specialist should he see?

Really struggling - Tocilzumab/Pred
Hello again, I’m in real pain around the clock and struggling to see past it at the moment. I’m due my second Toci injection tomorrow but the pain has gone worse since I had the first one last week. I posted that it hadn’t helped at all and was reassured when many of you said it took several weeks

scalp tenderness
I reduced my pred from 4mg to 3mg on 26th December. I am suffering from scalp tenderness and slight pain at the bottom of my skull. It does seem to ease slightly after taking 10mg amitriptyline. I have not received my next appointment with rheumatologist. Just wondering if I need to speak to my GP

GCA & polymyalgia rheumatica
I was diagnosed with GCA 8 years ago. All medical attention has been focussed on steroids & methotrexate etc. throughout. Now, at the age of 75 I am finding that the severe limiting effects of the polymyalgia is even more life limiting than GCA. Has anyone else found this? Is there any real help

Covid recovery
Hi, I tested positive on 15th December and was positive for 14 days. It attacked my lungs this time and was bad. From day 1 I was prescribed steroids and a 2 week course of Docyciclyne to take alongside my nebuliser. I’m now on my third course of steroids and my peak flow is still only about 310. Heart
