Applying for PIP
Please can anyone give me any advice on filling in my PIP form? I have fibromyalgia & have recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my Spine. Does anyone know if it's helpful to get (if you can) a letter from your GP? Is this really necessary? As it would cost to get this letter & not beneficial

Update Pip.
Hi, I want to update Pip on my condition worsening. I have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and fatigue. They know about the conditions but it seems to be affecting me more harshly. I’m not sure how to do this. Thank you

Taking amitriptyline for the first time
Hi, I'm new to this group. I was diagnosed with fibro last month when I went to my annual rheumatology check up for my rheumatoid arthritis. It was a bit of a shock because I thought it was my arthritis flaring up - but at the same time it's not a surprise because both my sister and mum suffer with fibro

Ankle fusion surgery
I have osteoarthritis in my ankle, following ligaments damage 30 years ago after a fall. My Consultant has recommended ankle fusion - does anyone on here have experience of this, and what it's like afterwards?

Sudden Sternum pain
Last 2 days I started to have what felt like electric shocks directly under my sternum. I have pain in my left elbow joint, however this is probably from my arthritis. Any help would be greatly received.

Do biologics slow down progression in Ankylosing Spondylitis?
Trying to find out if Ankylosing Spondylitis can be stopped or progression slowed down if Biologics are used or if they don't have as much of an effect on AS as they do other forms of arthritis? Any links to research, articles, videos etc is much appreciated?

Do biologics slow down the progression of arthritis?
I was wondering if there is much research to show that biologic drugs slow down the progression of arthritis or if they have no effect? Some research articles I've read about biologics say they slow down progression of disease in up to 50% of patients if caught early in the disease and others say they

Humira possibly Stelara?
I have psoriatic arthritis… I have a few of the “itis's.” I have found that humira has been a wonder medication for me in terms of both plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Lately I have been dealing with tendon issues in my ankle. At first, like always, I thought I just hurt it, and I did, but

Arthritis
I have arthritis in my right index and middle finger. The pain in the index finer is excruciating at times. Anyone else suffering from this? Any suggestions? I live in the UK, no joy from GP. I personally think it stems from repetitive strain, as I was a primary school teacher.

Severe knee arthritis
Hi everyone. I have bone on bone compartmental arthritis in both knees and have been told I need total knee replacements. I’m keen to avoid surgery if possible so am researching other ideas. Has anyone tried red light therapy and if so does it provide any pain relief or regeneration of cartilage etc.

Liver function tests with Tocilizumab.
My Liver function tests are slightly out of range (0-35) mine were 42 last time and 46 recently. My Rheumatologist proposes that I come off Tocilizumab and start Methotrexate . It was my understanding that Metotrexate also caused raised liver enzymes. I don’t want to alienate my lovely Rheumatologist

Running with osteoarthritis
I used to run more than 10 years ago but, having fallen in the car park at work, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis arthritis in my right hip, left foot and my right hand. I thought I would never be able to run again and this is certainly what was implied by the doctors and physios I saw. I have, however

More news on my pain
Hi everyone, Well I’ve had a very interesting conversation with my doctor. She totally agrees that rheumatologist has fobbed me off. She agrees with me they can hardly tell what it is without an X-ray and I would not have arthritis of the hip as I’ve had hip replacement . She is arranging an X-ray

Update on pain
Hi everyone, We’ll talk about quick reply, I sent an email to rheumatologist this morning and a nurse phoned me about 1/2 hour ago, he discussed the pain I’m experiencing and talked it with a rheumatologist and said because my markers are not up it can’t be PMR and therefore it must be osteoarthritis
