PMR diagnosis
I have been reading that PMR is usually treated with
Steroids
but there doesn’t appear to be any mention of MTX so am wondering whether there are others in the same position as myself taking MTX solely or whether my medication may have to change.

incorrect dose of prednisolone?
It has never felt like a flare, as the symptoms were nothing like what I was having before
steroids
when I could hardly walk up stairs or lift my arms because of the pain/stiffness.

But he had never had
steroids
before and now had been given large amounts before his Chemo treatments. When we got him to the emergency room his glucose reading was 997. He was never the same afterward. At first he was just unresponsive, doing everything as if in a trance.

Methotrexate or Prednisone which is more damaging?(also update on eyes)
Also saw Rheumy who has been pushing me to taper
steroids
more quickly. I was on Actemra for reducing Pred, but I cannot tolerate it. Stopped 2-3 months ago.

Implantation clinic coventry/ Warwick and potential treatments (stigliptin)
I believe they offer people
steroids
. Clexane and extra progesterone, all of which I have tried. I think the only potential thing they might be able to give me is stiglipin? What is this for? What test determines its usgae? Do they ever recommend anything else? Thanks

Numb face and tinnitus
I did increase my
steroids
at the time but it didn’t do anything really. Ever since TCZ was taken away in August 2022 (6 months early) I have had several flares and not really felt as good.

anyone with AIT and Lichen Sclerosis?
My Mum (85) is really suffering, she has followed all guidelines for 20+ years, had biopsies, used
steroids
as directed and special non soap washes. She isn’t diagnosed with AIT, but I inherited it from somewhere and she had a form of hepatitis as a teenager.

Post covid asthma diagnoses
I got covid in feb 22 and since then have had several episodes of severe chest infections which always require antibiotics and
steroids
. I’ve check my inhaler technique, I keep up with all my meds. I’m fit and well (besides this). I’ve never smoked.

A positive happening
my pmr went after 5 yrs but continuing pain in legs meant seeing g.p.s who decided I still had pmr and gave me
steroids
as the only answer,. So same side effects each time…. Eventually the senior partner intervened and I now see only him. But was referred to a vascular surgeon.

Update.. My Dad is in John Radcliffe hospitol Oxford
His blood sugars are high from the
steroids
. His antibody type is one of the ANA types I will have to check which one. It seems to be very complex to find out a definite cause, different conditions can cause similar symptoms.

T3 starting dose too high?
I then took at bad dose of bronchitis a few days later and ended up on
steroids
and antibiotics and was very unwell. The thing is that I have not felt any benefits from the T3 at all. I am still exhausted with aches everywhere.

Hello everyone
After a week of
steroids
the mobility in my shoulders returned to normal and my hips and knees were fine. I was able to resume doing my weekly 30 mile cycle ride. Fatigue is not an issue so I guess I have a fairly light version of PMR which came on after a Covid jab in October.

Difficulty in reducing steroid dose
But the increase in
steroids
upset my stomach. This May, perhaps foolishly, but largely because of the stomach issues I tried to titrate to 9.5 mg. I can now feel my hip flexors and quads tightening which for me is a bad sign, confirmed by the slight increase in CRP.

PMR or Arthritis?
My concern is whether it is just OA, which perhaps the
steroids
were masking or residual PMR or both. Certainly when my initial PMR symptoms started Naproxen did nothing (I understand that pain killers are ineffective with PMR).
