I had a long hard time after being diagnosed with pmr.

my pmr went after 5 yrs but continuing pain in legs meant seeing g.p.s who decided I still had pmr and gave me steroids as the only answer,.

So same side effects each time….

Eventually the senior partner intervened and I now see only him.

But was referred to a vascular surgeon. Excellent physician but then referred me to a leg surgeon. My ankles wet like tree trunks for 8 yrs after taking a drug for hypertension.

The leg man ordered an ankle MRI- no abnormality shown. But said man referred me to a herbalist and almost immediately I realised I didn’t want her help. She charged me £150 - ‘ I have made these up specially for you’

He decided I had a lymph problem.then said he knew little about it.He wouldn’t refer me! My gp said he knew little about lymphadema. Then spent 5 months finding out all about the condition and started self funded massage and drainage.

Back to vascular man he reassured me I didn’t have lymphadema. He referred me to a rheumatologist mri knees - OA both knees with torn menisci which had caused pain for years!!

The surgeon has been suspended by this private hospital!

Now ankles like my original ones and I’ve started taking very good olive oil daily. Immediately noticed less pain at side of knees medial aspect and no longer have dry eyes. ( see dr Sarah brewer gp and nutritionist)
