A number of people have posted, particularly about the side effects of
statins
, and then gone "Hidden". If any of them reads this please can they explain why?

Statins with ckd4?
I've been advised to take 20mg of
statins
but I am worried about the effect on my kidneys (CKD 4). Has anyone taken them?

Since being on thyroxine my cholesterol returned to a normal level even when I stopped taking
statins
It is now very high again. Having missed blood checks during the pandemic I feel my tsh may be high again.

First time here and learning a lot already
I joined this site following a stroke and hearing some confusing things about
statins
and levothyroxine. I've been hypothryroid for close to three years and have never really felt any better, the GP says the same as many others 'Tests all OK".

Statins question
As far as my understanding goes - and she didn't correct me when I said this - is the
statins
reduce cholesterol to help stop plaque forming in the arteries, if I can control the levels why do I still need to take the
statins
?

Rituximab and statins - a good combo?
I think it's about time I went on
statins
to reduce my high cholesterol. We have discussed it before, some time back, but she was reluctant to put me on
statins
because it might increase the aches and pains I was already suffering from.

An interesting & informative talk
The most interesting one for me was ‘Why Your Doctor is Wrong About
Statins
& Fat’. For anybody taking or considering taking
statins
, it’s well worth watching: https://youtu.be/FRZGgO4MxRU. I shall be asking my GP to look at the video and the evidence-based papers Dr. Paul Mason cited

Red Rice Yeast
My cholesterol is just over the limit but I am reading that red rice yeast can have side effects like
statins
. Natures best won’t sell it as they say you can’t guarantee an accurate dosage. Looking for views, is red rice yeast a good supplement or something to avoid?

Losartan or anxiety causing tingling lips??
I also have high cholesterol but eventually came off
statins
due to side effects. (I posted about this in a different group) I have also recently been diagnosed with a heart murmur. Some guidance as to where I should be posting this please. . I feel uptight and as though a hypochondriac.
