Hubby has had a cold for a few weeks, PCR test negative. Thought I would buy some echinacea for him. Can’t find out if they are safe to take with his heart meds, beta blockers, statins etc. does any body take these supplements?

Does anybody take echinacea?
Always best to consult your Dr, if you're not sure.
Echinacea is a a really strong herb, even without a medical condition you should only take it for a short period of time. I would definitely be asking the pharmacists advice as they're the experts plus they'll also ask the appropriate questions about your husband's heart condition. There's a horrible cold virus going around at the moment, that's making people really poorly and is taking ages to clear up. Goood luck with the pharmacist, please let us know how you get on.
Thank you Lezzers for your helpful reply. Will let you know if I get any info from pharmacist.
I find my local pharmacist is the best person to ask. Take the prescription along and they will be able to tell you of any contra-indications.
