Doctors Differ - Patients Die. The problem of taking a doctors lead
They would not prescribe
statins
to me. My nephr is a professor and did prescribe
statins
to me. These doctors differ, meaning the advice to consult my doctor terminates at the question "which one?"

CHILD-PUGH SCORE
May have been caused after 40 years of taking
Statins
for high cholesterol but equally may be hereditary. My letter states my Child-Pugh score is 5 which I note is level A in some literature. What is my mortality expectancy?

Statins in the treatment of triple negative breast cancer
I have read ( Lancet) that the use of
statins
might be helpful for treating TNBC. Anybody using
statins
yet for this purpose prescribed by their consultant?? And how did you go about getting this prescribed. Thanks for answer.

Intermittent Claudication and Statin dosage
I know many sufferers of this condition will have gone through what I am facing and I am anxious to know of the worst side effects of increasing your daily dosage of
Statins
by such an amount. Is it so debilitating?

Feeling unwell 8 weeks after fracture
Just before my shoulder fracture I started on
statins
so don't know if they have anything to do with it. I'm having a telephone appointment with my GP in 2 days but don't know if it will do any good.

Second opinion procedure?
She had had a letter from the cardio with various recommendations, including upping my dose of
statins
(why???) and adding more BP medications. I asked for a copy of the letter.

Travel insurance information for anyone taking statins
In medical screening I said I was taking
statins
and the representative said that was ok as it is a preventative medicine.

Non STEMI
It was obvious from the response that the GP was just going by the cardiologist's recommendation and tried to convince me that it was to 'support my stent' when it is well known that
statins
are purely for treating high cholesterol, and this statement was not correct.
