Any advice on Carboplatin and Caelyx?
Morning Warriors, Due to start six cycles of Caelyx this Thursday ☹️. Any advice on possible side effects? Have previously been on Carbo/Taxol, Avastin and weekly Taxol so know each one brings its own problems. Would be grateful for any help. 💕💕🤗🤗

Please help me girls to get out of this gloom
Hello sisters. I think most of you know how happy I usually am but before Christmas I went to a very dark place. I feel well and my hair is growing. I had my PET scan yesterday and blood test this morning. My CA125 result just came through. Last one was 22nd December at 125 and now a month later

Bisop + flec vs Sotalol
Hi, I read the posts and find them interesting and useful, now I wonder if someone can offer me any thoughts. I have had af for about 12years. Initial cardioversion, drugs, ablation (which didn’t work). Have been on bisop and flec for many years with the occasional bout of af, Apixaban for the last six

Last red devil!
Had my last red devil yesterday!! I've been so lucky with it, relatively minimal side effects. So first stage over. Now a bit nervous about starting Taxol as I can't believe I can get off lightly with both types of treatment and my mother had horrendous side effects from Taxol although that was nearly

Hello Everyone
Two months have passed since my beloved sister Dana passed away. I am slowly coming to terms with her loss but often find myself overwhelmed with the senselessness of it all and how quickly she succumbed to the disease. Dana was diagnosed in February 2017 at Stage 4and had followed the all too familiar

AF 4 days after ablation
Hi all, wanted to get some shared experience or feedback on my situation. Having had a cryo-ablation last Wednesday I felt on top of the world through Saturday when I had an episode of AF that lasted about 8 hours. Then I went into AF on Sunday night and am still in AF some 36 hours later with no breaks

My daughter gets frustrated with me. Am I wrong?
I watch my 3 granddaughters when she works. She is a stylist. She had a chance to do a wedding but it would be 2 days after my 6th chemo session. I told her not to count on me in case I am not up to watching girls. Also, on my past chemo session days, my son-in-law watched the baby, almost age 2, while

New Regimen of Sotalol
Could anyone please advise of what my EP's strategy may be. I must explain that I have a history of ventricular tachycardia and Ido have an AICD implanted which has discharged multiple time. Yes I have been extremely lucky so far. I recently changed to a new EP who immediately placed a 24 hr. Holter

Carboplatin reactions on 6th session
My concern is that there seems to be evidence of patients that get to session 6 and then have a reaction to the carboplatin. My daughter knows one person with Ovarian cancer and had this happen. I've read articles talking about reactions at sessions 7 or 8 when going thru a recurrence. Can't

Living in Afib
HI everyone, I am new to this website, but looking for some support and guidance. I am 54 and have had afib for years. I was never on blood thinners as the doctor told me I was at low risk for a stroke because of age and no other health conditions. Well, he was wrong. I had a stroke in August of

Making sense of scan results
I had a good feeling that my 18 weeks of taxol treatment had done its work and the scan result from last week has confirmed that with much relief. According to the report of which I now have a copy - The gastrophic, aortocaval, and left obdurator nodes show decrease in size * , there are no pulmonary

Managing unavoidable triggers in adrenergic AF
I have an increasing daily burden of daytime AF. It doesn't bother me overmuch. I could, but don't, sit and read a book all day to minimise the AF. Because I am a stay at home dad, dealing with 2 kids and their assorted friends on a weekdaily basis, do all the housework, laundry, cook etc. Plus walking

Newly diagnosed Stage 4 with mets to liver and bones
I am new to this as I was diagnosed Stage 4 from the start with mets to my liver and bones. I switched treatment centers and my oncologist to Mayo in Rochester. I was previously just on Herceptin every three weeks with really no side effects. Mayo is starting me on Herceptin and Perjeta every three

Sotalol: peaks and troughs
I read that Sotalol has an elimination half life of 10-20 hours. On a 12 hourly dosing regime, it appears the trough levels are around half the peak levels. Before ablation I was a mixed though primarily vagal afibber. Four years after ablation I have clear adrenergic AF every day, about 6 hours total

Mild exercise or rest up
Having a session of uncomfortable AF, take Apixabam and Sotalol, but wondered what peeps do to help, a bit of exercise or just rest up. I get very breathless especially on standing, so not tried exercise as yet. My sessions last usually 3 days, this one probably triggered by Christmas which was when
