Impact of OC on lungs / AVASTIN / Dealing with pain
Hello ladies, I am posting this message on behalf of my mother. She is 73 years old and was recently diagnosed with OC (in Dec 2011) - stage 4, grade 3. I live in England but my mother lives in France (we are both French). A friend recommended this website and I have found all your posts/messages

Leg pain Taxol
Has anyone experienced severe pain in their legs and feet after chemo. I've had 2 rounds of taxol/carbo and my shins and feet kill. The first time lasted about 4 days. This time longer. Any suggestions for easing the pain would help. I'm on painkillers but had a reaction to them paracetomol doesn't

Weekly taxol
Just been to see my onc today and he is suggesting weekly taxol. Has anybody else had this. If so what are the side effects like compared to the normal three week regime. Are you more or less likely to be prone to infections etc. I have had taxol before with and without carboplatin on the three week

What after taxol/carbo fails?
Taxol carbo didnt work to shrink my tumours, Im being referred to the Marsden and wondered what I might be offered next for slow growing OC. They have mentioned I might go on a trial.

Just be told have got to have 2ndchemo again
I was wondering if anyone else has had carboplatin and gemcitabine ? I had taxol and carboplatin last year which was told had worked well but the oc has returned. Onc said I couldn't have taxol as it was under a year I was on it. Asked about avast in but told only for 1st line chemo. Is there any hope

THE REASON WHY I HAVE BEEN REFUSED AVASTIN - but it aint over yet folks
Apparently I'm unusual in that although my OC has recurred three times, each time I have had chemo I have responded well. Trials of Avastin have so far been limited to 1st and 2nd-line patients. There has been no such trial for 3rd and 4th-line patients (I am the latter) and therefore there is no yardstick

Taxol
Hi everyone I finished my second line chemo (carboplatin/taxol) on 16 February and go today to see my oncologist about the results. I know my CA125 was still 177 by the end of the 5th chemo so I'm feeling slightly apprehensive about what I'm going to be told. On my third chemo the taxol was reduced

Anyone else get really cold legs and feet (especially in the night)? Plus, do any of you get woken up with pins and needles in your hands?
I take warfarin, thyroxine and sotalol.
