Hi everyone, I am so delighted to have found this forum as I have felt very alone since mid January when my paroximal AF decided to take over my life! After a few episodes of 'irregular heart rate ' 8 yrs ago ( one diagnosed as AF another as SVT, the others undecided) I have managed on 40mg of sotalol

Enlarged left atrium
Hi everyone. Well hubby has been off since September 2017 with AF. Had one electro fusion which worked sort of for 5 days, then back in AF and ecg and mri confirmed. Consultant referred hubby to another consultant for ablation and this new guy has been the first to tell us that his left atrium is stretched

Fast heartbeats and flutter do not react to medication
Have had two ablations so far for afib and flutter None , and I m not exagerating none of the twelve or thirteen types of medication or combinations I have been given have worked, bottom line they make no difference to heart rate or rythm, and produce dire side effects Sotalol and Flecanaide landed

Hi lovely ladies. Sending you all a big hug. I had a car accident yesterday morning. Sitting there in my car minding my own business and humming along to something (can’t remember what) on the radio then bang. A woman ploughed straight into me. She said her breaks just failed. I was very shaken up

Interesting read from the Wall Street Journal: some oncologists are no longer recommending chemotherapy as a treatment option. What are your thoughts? Does the article resonate with you in any way? Full article below and here: http://on.wsj.com/2DOOX5y "Chemotherapy, a Trusty Weapon Against Cancer,

Caelyx not worked
Found out on Friday that my two rounds of Caelyx have not worked. My CA125 is now a little over 23,000. So glad I pushed for a review before I had the 3rd infusion. Have had carbo/taxol and then weekly taxol over last 2 years with regrowth happening quickly or in case of taxol before the cycle had

"You are stable" - well, I never expected to hear that today.
Added after post: Above are some of the images from my PET Scans for last July and October. I haven't got last week's to show unfortunately. I wanted to show how much tumours can diminish with just carbo and avastin in the hope it gives hope to everyone - especially those who may be Stage 4B, as

Any advice on Carboplatin and Caelyx?
Morning Warriors, Due to start six cycles of Caelyx this Thursday ☹️. Any advice on possible side effects? Have previously been on Carbo/Taxol, Avastin and weekly Taxol so know each one brings its own problems. Would be grateful for any help. 💕💕🤗🤗

Please help me girls to get out of this gloom
Hello sisters. I think most of you know how happy I usually am but before Christmas I went to a very dark place. I feel well and my hair is growing. I had my PET scan yesterday and blood test this morning. My CA125 result just came through. Last one was 22nd December at 125 and now a month later

Bisop + flec vs Sotalol
Hi, I read the posts and find them interesting and useful, now I wonder if someone can offer me any thoughts. I have had af for about 12years. Initial cardioversion, drugs, ablation (which didn’t work). Have been on bisop and flec for many years with the occasional bout of af, Apixaban for the last six

Last red devil!
Had my last red devil yesterday!! I've been so lucky with it, relatively minimal side effects. So first stage over. Now a bit nervous about starting Taxol as I can't believe I can get off lightly with both types of treatment and my mother had horrendous side effects from Taxol although that was nearly

Hello Everyone
Two months have passed since my beloved sister Dana passed away. I am slowly coming to terms with her loss but often find myself overwhelmed with the senselessness of it all and how quickly she succumbed to the disease. Dana was diagnosed in February 2017 at Stage 4and had followed the all too familiar

AF 4 days after ablation
Hi all, wanted to get some shared experience or feedback on my situation. Having had a cryo-ablation last Wednesday I felt on top of the world through Saturday when I had an episode of AF that lasted about 8 hours. Then I went into AF on Sunday night and am still in AF some 36 hours later with no breaks

My daughter gets frustrated with me. Am I wrong?
I watch my 3 granddaughters when she works. She is a stylist. She had a chance to do a wedding but it would be 2 days after my 6th chemo session. I told her not to count on me in case I am not up to watching girls. Also, on my past chemo session days, my son-in-law watched the baby, almost age 2, while

New Regimen of Sotalol
Could anyone please advise of what my EP's strategy may be. I must explain that I have a history of ventricular tachycardia and Ido have an AICD implanted which has discharged multiple time. Yes I have been extremely lucky so far. I recently changed to a new EP who immediately placed a 24 hr. Holter

Carboplatin reactions on 6th session
My concern is that there seems to be evidence of patients that get to session 6 and then have a reaction to the carboplatin. My daughter knows one person with Ovarian cancer and had this happen. I've read articles talking about reactions at sessions 7 or 8 when going thru a recurrence. Can't
