Bulletin! Update for Laura and the DICE Trial.
Thanks to everyone who wrote to me offering commiserations and support! The wonderful team admonished me for not calling them during the week, but now have taken everything under consideration and have decided to have me skip this week’s Taxol and the TAC228 and they will check up on me on Thursday.

AF & Cancer Treatment
Hello all, I'm hoping you can help us? I've received a patient call today from someone who has atrial fibrillation - well controlled with sotalol. Their last episode was in 2016. They've never had a cardioversion or ablation. They also take apixaban - low dose due to low weight. They are due to start

More Laura & the DICE TRIAL
Well, turned out to be a hellish week. Lowering the Taxol did help the first two days, but now I realise how much the TAK228 is affecting me the rest of the week. I had awful unrelenting diarrhoea, and no matter how much Ondansetron and Loperamide I took, it was unstoppable. I nearly fainted before

Second Surgery
Having had debulking surgery in June and 4/6 of Carboplatin and Taxol treatments I have now been told that I have 2 tumours on my sigmoid colon not responding and it has been recommended that this part of my bowel is cut out and rejoined. I am shocked to have to face surgery so soon as I thought treatments

A little more settled
After what seemed an endless stream of problems after the Pace and Ablate a few months ago, I seem to be a little more settled now. I was still getting PVC's even with all the tweaking the tech people did for me, and no-one really seemed to know what, if any, meds I should be taking. So I did a bit

Started Taxol again on Thursday....
Started Taxol again on Thursday afternoon, everything went well , had the cold cap no problems at all. Then at 2.30am Friday I started retching just bringing up a bit of bile ( I have had this problem many times in the past ). Then around 6.30 I was being sick quite badly, this continued until 10.30

Afinitor 10mg and exemestane 25mg
I've just done my first 4 weeks on this drug combination after 18 cycles of ibrance 125mg and faslodex. Not to pull punches it's been quite an awful month. I've felt really ill, all the pain is back in my hips and back, mouth ulcers made worse by a dental infection, headaches, upset tummy, nausea and

Joint pain on Carboplatin
Hello all My Mum has just had dose no 3 of carboplatin. Taxol abandoned due to severe allergy. She is suffering from awful joint pain after 3 days. I have read that Claritin helps, is this true and has anyone any other suggestion? Thank you so much in advance ladies Sarah

Did this trigger the afib?
I had a cold with stuffed nose and overindulged my flonase spray, finishing the spray bottle in 2 days. On the third day i went into afib which converted to normal in a hour. Was it the flonase? Also i take 80mg of sotalol 2x a day. I took my wife’s z-pak meds also. Would this have triggered it?

Laura and the DICE Trial - Week 2
Hello everyone, Hope you all are as well as can be. So: Yesterday was my early morning train ride to London. A good friend came with me and let me lean on her to get to the platform. I was feeling a LOT better, much stronger, but definitely not my old energetic self from 7 days ago. We made it to the

Laura and the DICE Trial - Be Careful What You Wish For!
Well, I have been sick as a dog since Thursday afternoon. Basically the same side effects I suffered with first line, except, thank goodness, no bone pain! Just terrible debilitating fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, achy joints, sore throat and head ache. But what makes this even harder is that

No phase one trial for me at the moment
A little gutted that I can’t get on a phase one trial at the moment. The one I had hoped to get on required a new biopsy, after having an ultrasound to try and get this it was decided that it was just too dangerous. My tumours are still hiding and are difficult to get at . I have had mega constipation

Sotalol Side effects and the Afib journey
Stopped Sotalol about 10 days ago to go on to Amiodarone. AFter a few days felt I had got my life back - almost no breathlessness and much less lethargy. (I think that was the cessation of Sotalol side effects.) The Amiodarone was not stopping the number of episodes but seemed to be cutting them from

Blood clots in mouth
Hello everyone I have had afib now for 20 months. Take Sotalol 80 mg twice a day and Xarelto (rivaroxaban) anti coagulant. I have had problems with bleeding gums on and off since this treatment and put it down to the anticoagulant. However last night my mouth became suddenly full of blood followed

Weekly Taxol and steroids
Hi all, Do anyone of you ladies currently on weekly Taxol take steroids before, the day of and the day after treatment? I remember when I first had chemo (carboplatin and taxetere), I had to take them. This time around they didn't give me any and just doubled the dose prior to administering the taxol

Discontinued AntiArrythmics due to prolonged QTc
Hi all.. I've been put on various anti arrhythmia drugs..propafenone, flecanide, sotalol. They inadvertently lead to prolonged QT. My ECG today also shows QTc at 545. My cardiologist says it is not safe to continue this class of drugs. He has now put me on bisoprolol 1.25 od. But beta blockers make me
