With my sister in Ireland after labs came back - please help with advice…
Hello everyone, I posted previously - briefly, my sister has had cognitive decline for about two years and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about four years ago. Her Levo has just been increased on 50 to 75 mcg. She is not on T3 or NDT. (I didn’t know about NDT until I came on this portal). She only

A Cold & surgery
I’ve got a cold for the past few days. I feel ok at the monent, but previous colds have ended up affecting my chest. I know what to do if it does set my asthma off, but I’m due surgery on 29th September. I’m worried now that this cold could possibly delay my surgery (which I’ve waited month for). Is

Dexa scan
I had to have a Dexa scan last Wednesday, arranged by Endocrinologist I’ve only seen once and discharged at conclusion of the appointment. Saw GP yesterday (appt made nearly a month ago after Endo appt) who said I would need medication if osteoporosis identified in scan (as TSH suppressed!). The side

I don't know what to do :(
I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid back in 2018. I assume it's autoimmune related as my anti body score was 410.8 but it's never been stated as such. My mum also has an underactive thyroid which I think is the main reason they started me on levothyroxin in the first place; 2 years before in

I'm getting a Spinal Cord Stimulator in Two weeks.
Hi, I'm new here. In 2 weeks I get a permanent SCS implant, and am so excited . I had the 7 day trial application, and to my astonishment, was relatively pain free for the first time in 10 years. Are there any others here with the SCS? My other chronic illness is PMR, which I developed in 2013.

Elevated PSA due to Tagrisso?
Hi all: My 79 y.o father has been on Tagrisso for nearly a year now. He just had his PSA levels tested and there's a bit of an increase. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience? (He does have a history of BPH and experienced urinary urgency soon after starting on Tagrisso.)

I telephoned the doctors, yesterday and after a long hold spoke to the receptionist who gave me an appointment for today for 11:30. I had one

Seroma advice
Hi, I had spinal surgery last September, I was rushed back in hospital 2 weeks later with a back infection. They flushed me out with antibiotics and put 42 stitches in my back. After that I had lot's of e.coli infections until December. Since then I've had 2 MRI scans with contrast and a CT scan.

Cancer growth was reduced in cold rooms
I saw this article today so i translated from swedish to english ----Thnx google---- very helpful.....! Mice that lived in room temperatures of 4 degrees had significantly slower tumor growth. They lived almost twice as long, compared to mice that were in rooms with 30 degrees. The inhibitory effect

More about Dexascan / AA / Adcal
I opened up intending to post about my latest AA Prescription dilemma - and still would like some advice. I wasn't sure whether to add to Blackcat1M's post - but it seemed a bit rude to invade her space! Anyhow, my GP prescribed me AA and Adcal -D3 early May on basis I had been on Pred since PMR arrived

PIPS and COPD
Hi everyone. Will my PIPS be affected if I still smoke? I’m trying so hard to give up by slowly tapering off and have reduced my smoking by two thirds with the method I came up with after numerous attempts over 20 years to stop. My cravings for nicotine were just as bad every day even after two years

Newbie looking for advice on recent test result
I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid in april 2022. What a rollercoaster! Do I have an autoimmune thyroid disorder? My first test was looking at reason for a change in bowel movements and fatigue. Doctor responded directly to the TSH level and placed me on 25mg levothyroxine. Serum

Sore Throat
I have a sore throat right at the base of my throat where my thyroid is. It’s particularly sore in the night. Could it be my thyroid or just a random sore throat? My tonsils and throat area are slightly red, but nothing major. My current dose is T4 100mcg and T3 18.75. What can I do about it? Painkillers
