Elevated PSA due to Tagrisso?

Hi all: My 79 y.o father has been on Tagrisso for nearly a year now. He just had his PSA levels tested and there's a bit of an increase. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience? (He does have a history of BPH and experienced urinary urgency soon after starting on Tagrisso.) Much appreciate any insights. 🙏🌺

Hi, does your Dad have an EGFR mutation?

This is not a known side effect of Tagrisso. Was your dad experiencing prostate issues or was this from his annual PSA test? Does he have a prostate cancer diagnosis? How high was the jump?

Are there any other issues? I’m wondering about fluid retention. Only because my cousin had a giant spike in his PSA number and it was established he wasn’t urinating enough. The numbers were so high they called family in to say goodbye. When they treated fluid retention with diuretics the PSA numbers dropped to normal range.

Not all the long term side effects of Tagrisso are known yet It received accelerated approval because it demonstrated unprecedented success in slowing the growth of EGFR cancers

What follow up are they doing?
