Taking Ferrous Sulphate Exhausts Me, Any Alternatives?
Hi All, In February 2023 I requested a blood test from my GP as I felt generally awful. I had muscle and joint pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, irritability, hair loss, overall skin sensitivity and moderate acne that scarred. I was also losing my evenings as my body was so tired, I’d nap for hours

My anxiety is stopping me from doing something that will help me. How do I power on through this?
I have chronically low iron, my Dr has prescribed a hormonal pill and an iron transfusion. Two things that terrify me for different reasons. I want to be able to go with the flow, but I can’t. I’ve asked about alternatives, this is my only option left. I’ve used my alternatives already. I am very much

Boron, an interesting article about supplement for T3 increase
Found this article which I found interesting as a possible supplement to assist with T3 may consider after next blood test if no improvement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4712861/?fbclid=IwAR3dMJ-9rLLZ47g1qBU4LbMViJROk8gIbRNhijGMMW3giwHjVbsY06Huppk

Iron Panel Interpretation

Getting there, but slowly
More blood tests back now but still don't have all the figures. Serum immunoglobulins all normal Coeliac screen - negative Ferritin 197 (range 13-150) Transferrin saturation 38% (15-45) He's not happy about this even though it's "normal" Homocysteine - normal IFA - still negative Gastric parietal antibodies

A Method To Increase Ferritin Level
Hi, just sharing this info if it's any help for anyone. I've always struggled to increase my ferritin levels over the years. It tends to stay down at 20-40 ug/L. Supplementing iron and eating iron rich foods will elevate it a bit more for me but what has worked the best is iron as a transdermal patch

Ferritin success, anyone wishing to try the same ... especially if vegan
After years with ferritin scraping along bottom of the range it has at last risen, to nearly double and I thought others might like to know to see if the same works for you too. There are two things I have done (after prescribed ferrous fumarate did not resolve the problem), 1) I regularly take

what to think?
I posted recently that I’m 51 and platelets have consistently been slightly elevated for 5 years. They were consistently 400-450 until last month they were 500 at annual checkup and then 469 a week later when I saw the hematologist. My WBC is often a little high as well, recently 11 (I often wonder if

I use conjecture as part of my creative process. Thing is I do not pretend it is anything but conjecture. Using those who share their experience on this forum it seems to me that of the three forms readily commercially available Methylcobalamin has the most profound effect. As a person who is not

Thyroid bloods
My daughter is 24 and for several years she has had symptoms that tick all the boxes for overactive thyroid. She went to the doctors and asked as she has a needle phobia could she have blood test measuring her hormone levels, a thyroid function test, looking at levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone
