Haemochromatosis and my liver
Male, now 50. My story starts five years ago when I was renovating my house and tripped down a broken staircase and knocked myself unconscious. I went to A&E and after getting a head scan my GP had me get some blood tests for any nasty tell tale signs to do with concussion and bleed on the brain. Thankfully

Should I stop any supplements after transfer?
Hi all, Am finally getting to go through my first frozen transfer after 3 cancelled cycles (one fresh two frozen). I'm currently taking a few supplements (have been for at least 9 -12 months) but is there any that I should stop taking the day of or after transfer? I assume most are fine but just wanted

hello lovey people, Please remove if not appropriate as I realise this not entirely relevant to thyroid, but I’ve come to trust this forum so much with health queries I thought I’d ask. Does anyone have any good recommendations for osteoarthritis (in someone with thyroid disease? They are optimal

Pramipexole vacations
I am currently completely off Pramipexole for 7 months, after being on it for 6 years. It was the only medication that gave me excellent relief and no side effects, except one sudden episode of augmentation . All the augmentation symptoms have resolved, but the symptoms of course are daily and last

A brief respite and now back with a vengeance
I suffer from restless legs syndrome and was prescribed pramipexole. I started a reduction program several months ago and by September I was down to half a tablet today. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy 3 moths ago. Unbeknown to me the surgery temporarily raised my ferritin

Hi all, I've been lurking a while and am grateful for all I've learned so far! After a stressful period in my life I became unwell in May 2021 with severe fatigue, brain fog, feeling the cold and being very thirsty. In the course of testing and personal research I cut out gluten and my symptoms became

Anti depressants and RLS
Hi fellow sufferers. I weaned myself off of Sertraline in the summer as partly responsible for worsening my severe RLS. And I had an iron infusion in August. For the last 4-5 weeks I have been symptom free of RLS, though still on 50mg pregabalin. But I find myself at an all time low for other reasons

Iron results-any advice?
Hi! V grateful for all the wisdom from this forum. Just did a full iron panel on Medichecks as ferritin has been consistently low, and I've been on and off ferrous fumarate for years. GP only tests ferritin; advice on here seemed to be to get the full picture. Results below... Ferritin much better

Can you take an iron supplement for a short time without gp prescription?
Hi My last Ferritin result was 64 (30-150) I have read that Ferritin better to be at least 80 to help thyroid hormones work. I have lingering fatigue, terrible hair and a couple of other things. I read that the hair thing can also be low ferritin? I'm taking vit d and b complex. There's no way on this

olaparib dosage adjustments
when I first started olaparib 4 months back, my Haemoglobin and platelets dropped significantly. I was asked to take 2 tabs (150mg each) twice a day. When haem dropped to 6.8, my doc reduced the dose to 1tab *2 and put me on iron supplement. Day before, haem went Upto 11, hence he has upped my dose

Post 2 - my own bloods - advice please :)
Hi everyone Posted about my dads bloods for feedback but also curious about my own results. I had my levels tested through GP a few weeks ago and they were looking good (tsh around 1, t4 I think around 17). I was therefore surprised to see the following when I got my tests done privately through medichecks
