Heat and Blood Pressure
Many of us struggle with the heat tending to feel lethargic and washed out! One problem is that heat causes the blood vessels to expand and combined with your medication you may experience a degree of hypotension. Perspiration can make this worse if you start getting dehydrated. The key is to stay well

Imodium question
Hi everyone I’ve suffered with IBS for years. Along with M.E. Anyway I’m going through a particular bad phase with the dreaded D. Mainly in the evening. I’m going out for a family meal tomorrow. I’m worried as to whether I’m going to have an attack. So planning on taking a couple of Imodium before hand

🌱 Delicious Brunch 🌱
Hi everyone, This morning I had some extra time so made myself brunch with some sourdough I found in the supermarket which was vegan. I fancied black beans (turtle beans) so had them with fresh garlic on the toasted sourdough with mushrooms and some delicious tomatoes I picked this morning. [u]Black

ABLATION PLUS 6 MONTHS
Following on from my 3 month post, I am now really happy with the way I have recovered after a patchy first week then a very slow recovery. I still get the odd ectopic which brings me down to earth but apart from that I can get on with my life as normal (though not tried anything sporty yet). Holiday

Egfr rapidy falling
My egfr function has dropped from 18% to 13% on 3 days. I have been drinking as much water as I can and try to eat salt as Drs has advised my sodium is very low and suggest I'm not taking enough in. So anyway phoned kidney until the asked me to come in to take a look at me. Giving me some fluid. Saw

17 years with metastatic prostate cancer - operation 2 and a dance with Lu
It’s been around eleven months since my last post, so I thought I’d put together an update for those of you who are interested. It’s quite a long one. Apologies for that, but hopefully it will be of interest. It’s also helped me just to set it all out. A kind of therapy, if you will. So, after a few

Epilepsy is controllable
Seizure recurrences are frequent among HIV patients . Long-term anti-epileptic therapy needs to be considered, even after a single seizure. Phenytoin has been the most widely prescribed anti-epileptic drug for these patients, but a significant number of patients are likely to experience undesirable side-effects

Veru-111 Advice
My Dad is going to be screened for the Veru-111 trial soon. I’ve been looking all over the internet trying to find others that may have gone through this trial. I understand it’s new, but I’m just looking for feedback on what others may know. I’ve read the handout from the hospital and a couple of sites

IBS-D Any suggestions other than Imodium?
Hi there. I have suffered from IBS-D for a few years and manage it as best I can with Imodium. If I am going out for the day or for long periods of time, I take Imodium as preventative measures, just in case I get taken short. Many of these occasions I probably don't need to take Imodium, but psychologically

Questran
Hi, My IBS D is so bad at the moment. Somehow, I managed to get an urgent next day appointment with my NHS gastro (miracles DO happen!) He prescribed Questran Lite and said to try it for a while and see if it helps the D, to tell if I have BAM or not. (He said I could have a SeH-Cat Scan but he thinks

New Test Results - With A Question
I just got back my results from my latest urine and renal blood test. I was very happy to see that my creatinine level had dropped from .96 to .87! My BUN is 11. My potassium, calcium, sodium and phosphorus are all within normal limits. However, on 24-hour urine my urine creatinine clearance is low

Thyroxine and treatment of hypothyroidism: seven decades of experience
Why do we have such difficulty in finding endocrinologists who seem to understand? The abstract below seems to explain that wonderfully well. Because there are so many comments to be made, I shall depart from my usual approach and will use footnotes. I couldn't help but hear words such as "smug", "

Diarrhoea post transplant
Yes, I have it but had to google how to spell it 🤪What a stupid way to write the word when your innards are falling out! Anyway, it started yesterday while at parents in law. I had driven a lot that day 5 1/2hrs and it was only half past two in the afternoon. Had a big late lunch then it immediately

Hi as title says im new here and currently undiagnosed. Looking for some advice please. I visited doctor last Thursday with what I thought were symptoms of IBS bloating, wind and really bad diarrhoea with some blood/mucus.
