Despite all these test results the only one that's relevant to Thyroid is ferritin result and couple of iron level tests
Ferritin at 21 (5-272) - this is low
RBC and Heamoglobin are both also low
Creatine also low
For FULL thyroid and vitamin testing you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Soon I'll have my thyroid blood work , vitamin D, folate, and reverse T3. Would you be able to tell me what it means the creatine being low.
Nothing thyroid there. Ferritin is way too low, needs to be at least 70. See if GP will prescribe 201mg ferrous fumarate. If not, you can buy from an online pharmacy or get from certain terrestrial ones like Tesco. There are no ranges for sex hormones and no indication of time of month, so not useful (there are usually three ranges corresponding to the different times of the month for each result - may also be age-related ranges).
