Blood test help
Hi I wonder if you'd mind raising any problems with my bloods please. I recently saw an endocrinologist for my chronic insomnia, which I believe is caused by my low cotisol/low DHEA. I am always struggling with low ferritin, and even more now I've gone off liver and liver pate. I am trying to eat

Macro’s and sodium limits
Hi all, looking at cleaning up my diet. I’m planning on using “my fitness pal” to track macros. Can anyone advise on break down of carbs, protein and fat best for fatty liver and what I should set the sodium level at. Thanks in advance.

What is AMX0035, and Why Is It Important for All of Us?
AMX0035 is a drug combination of sodium phenylbutyrate (PB) and tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA). It works by regulating the mitochondrial (cell power supply) and endoplasmic reticulum (quality control centers). Put simply, both processes should work in unison, but when they don’t, cells in the body

PSMA PET Scan - What To Expect
Good morning Warriors: The journey continues. I have been in a battle with the PC Beast for 20 years. Had RP, Radiation, and Chemo. All worked for a while. I just received my 3rd injection of Radium 223. My PSA is still 9 but my ALP has dropped from 178 to 58 which seems very encouraging. My MO

Besremi -Six Week Update
I had another CMP and CBC yesterday. Background: I got my first Besremi shot on January 28. I asked to start at 50 mcg. Second shot was 60 mcg and third was 70mcg. After six weeks, I'm thrilled to see changes in my counts: My WBC went from 15 to 10.8 (while it can fluctuate, it doesn't have a drop

Blood test results, can anyone help?
I have been having multiple symptoms which i thought were due to the start of the menopause. A hormone test came back indicating this was not the case but my TSH was right on the limit of normality at 4.2. As my symptoms also match an under active thyroid I paid for a blood test and my TSH came back

Update and first time referral to a neph...
Hi everyone, This is my second post. My first post, my husband had been leaking protein and was told it would go away. A year later, he still has it. Now he's being referred to a Nephrologist for the first time. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on what to ask? He's not diabetic and his blood

Diet & CKD
Good morning, I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience? I told my neph that I was limiting protein, sodium and foods bad for the kidneys. She said that limiting protein etc is old school and instructed me not to add salt to any food. I am at a stage 3b. I have been reading posts on this

Zofigo RA223 Seems To Be Working - PSA Still 9
Hello warriors: I am about to have my third injection of Radium 223. So far so good. I have some fatigue but try to ignore it and press on with exercise, swimming, walking, lifting weights and playing golf. I think the Lupron and the 6 months of Chemo did more to the stamina than the RA 223. My PSA

Nervous about having blood work done
Hello, does anyone else feel like they are in panic mode knowing it is time to have blood work done. I am so afraid to see my numbers. I have been drinking my water and eating a mostly vegan diet (I eat no meat, no poultry, no processed foods, and watch my sodium very carefully). I will eat a piece

And another ER visit and hospital stay
Jeff went back in for chemo and his blood pressure had plummeted and he was running 102 + fever. They nixed chemo and sent him immediately to the ER. He was discharged yesterday, although we didn’t really get a lot of answers. His sodium is too low and he was advised to eat more salt. They almost didn

I HAVE HUNG UP MY RUNNING SHOES
It is approaching nine years since I discovered C25k and subsequently this forum and the combination of the two changed my life in more positive ways than I could ever imagine. From a 57 year old who thought that running might be a lesser necessary evil than heading off to the gym to maintain stamina
