Diarrhoea post transplant

Yes, I have it but had to google how to spell it 🤪What a stupid way to write the word when your innards are falling out!

Anyway, it started yesterday while at parents in law. I had driven a lot that day 5 1/2hrs and it was only half past two in the afternoon. Had a big late lunch then it immediately started. I missed cheese and dessert as I was feeling v tired. In the evening ate very little.

Today same watery symptoms and I feel slightly queasy; had toast but nothing else. I’m going to eat very little today I think but will drink little and often. My daughter has the same thing. No stomach cramps.

Not had one for years and years. Certainly none post transplant.

Is there anything I should do? Was told by clinic to come in if it lasted more than 3 days or so. Is Imodium ok or should I just leave it to nature?

Ps just saw the Add photo box. Better not I think haha!

Hi Isabelle. These sessions normally clear themselves up within 48 hours. Drink plenty of water so that you don't become dehydrated and avoid dairy products. Hopefully by tomorrow you will be getting back to normal, if you think at any point that it's getting worse rather than better then seek medical advice. Hope that you're feeling better very soon. All the best. Alf

Hi Izzy, although I'm not post Tx, I do suffer with diarrhoea occasionally, and i am prescribed Loperamide for it, and it works very well for me. Hope this helps,

David

Good morning Isabelle2, sorry to hear you are unwell.

I would reiterate what Alf has said, drink plenty and if the symptoms persist or you feel you are worsening , do not hesitiate to seek medical help.

Take care

Lol no - no photos please! 😁

Like freddy I’m post TP and still have that affliction frequently (easier to spell than dia thingy) I thought it was the diabetes metformin but have proven to myself it’s not. I just persevere. I don’t like taking any more tablets than I’m already prescribed!!

Good luck!!

Angus

Hubby used to take that met thingy for his diabetes & I know that can upset bowels as well.

That’s correct 😕 But I still get IT whether I sop for a day or not. Don’t know if that means I’m unlucky or lucky 😕😀

Isablelle2 - sympathy and envy equally from one who's having the total opposite of DIRE REAR. Be well soon!

I love the spelling 😂

It just seems to me easier this way - it's bad enough having it without trying to spell it at the same time? xx :-)

Hi Isabelle

It's a horrid thing to be suffering with and I'm not a TP patient, but I too like most on here suffer with a dicky tum but mine kicks in more when my livers having a wobble or the new meds add to this situation!

Like advice given above, drink plenty and keep that bed pan handy 😁😁😁. Sorry my little humour .......

Take care and hope things improve

Feeling a little brighter. Daughter now much better - just as well she’s flying to Berlin to start new job and life with b/friend there today. My movements, apart from going to airport lol , are still not quite right but hopefully they’ll settle down.
