Quick question
I had my Angiogram on Monday 8th January, referred to James Cook Hospital for a CABG and I have just received an appointment to see the Consultant Cardiologist who do my Angiogram for mid April for what purpose I have no idea. Anyone able to shed any possible light on why I have received this appointment

2 days on from Angiogram
So...I have had my Bisoprolol increased to 2.5mg after my Angiogram and being advised that I need a CABG. I don't know if I am tired due to the emotional impact of the news or the Bisoprolol as my resting heart rate drops to around 39bpm when sat relaxed. I spoke to the cardiologist about the concern

Life returns to 'new' normal
Its not quite three months since my triple CABG and tomorrow evening I'm off on my first long haul flight post op. I've checked and packed everything - drugs, compression socks, warm clothes and the general paraphernalia of a typical business trip - but with the slight difference in that I've packed

Living with CLL and new complications
Hello, I am new here. I came across this site when I was looking for information about CLL. I was diagnosed this time 10 years ago and My oncologist at my last visit, wanted me to see a dermatologist. So I did and was told I have precancerous cells on my skin. They froze them. I was told by my oncologist

WK 5 R3 and it’s been emotional
This last run was something I never thought I’d get to again, to cut a long story short I’ve had 11 cardiac stents, a number of heart attacks including arrests and a quad CABG. I was first diagnosed in my late 30 and my career was over in an instant. It’s been a long trial over many years but at last

Post CABG and airport scanners
I have titanium staples and a titanium plate in my chest where the surgeon pulled my sternum back together. Do these set-off airport security scanners? If they do, how do you explain this to the security officers?

Cardiac contractility modulation (CCM)
About 68% of diabetic patients suffer from heart attack and another 15% suffer from stroke. Those who have triple vessel disease {blocks in the left anterior artery (LAD), left circumflex artery (LCX) and right coronary artery (RCA)} may undergo coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Such heart patients

VM keep getting symptoms after recovery
Just checking to see if anyone has experienced symptoms from VM even though you thought you where fully recovered. I ended up with VM in June 2017 and was really sick for 10 days and in the hospital for 3 days. I had all the normal symptoms for VM: Headache, stiff neck, vertigo and fever. It took about

5 month update... still a mixed bag! Cholesterol??
Hi All... well I'm still here which is a good thing! Things have continued to be very up and down unfortunately and the emotional effects really started to kick in a month or so back when the realisation of what happened, what could have happened, what might happen all started to overwhelm me a little

Advice for my First Wide Excision
Hey everyone! I had a couple biopsies done a couple weeks ago, they both came back negative for melanoma *phew* but, they are both considered atypical. The one taken with the punch biopsy is all good and I won’t need to do anything with it at the moment, but the one taken with the shave biopsy is more

Boils
Hi all. I have some questions about boils. I've had a boil that is 3 to 4 inches in diameter on the right butt cheek. And after taking antibiotics there is a head and it broke. Pus and stuffs starts flowing out, but after that the head remains protruding and looks like a cap of a size of a 10 cents

Vegetarianism- does it actually prevent relapse ?
I would ask people who had CABG or angioplasty long back, whether they followed veg diet or otherwise and did they find any difference ? Should I stop fish and lean meat altogether to prevent relapse of the heart disease(MI)?

Scabies, I guess
Hi there guys, my doctor here in china said I have Scabies and that I have to use a sulfur ointment. My questions is: can I were clothes after putting on the ointment on all my body or, should I sleep naked? Also, I take antihistaminic but is not really stopping the itch, any advise to get to sleep

RV Systolic dysfunction and Oxygen
My cardiologist sent me to a pulmonary specialist. I saw him yesterday, and when he heard that I take periodic breaks when walking we walked down the hall while he measured my blood oxygen. It turns out I need oxygen for exertion. Now I do testing to find out why. He is arranging for home oxygen.

Clicking sensation in Sternum post CABG
Hi All, I'm just over 4 weeks post triple bypass op. The recoverys going well. I'm walking 50 mins per day and the scars are healing nicely. I feel a kind of clicking sensation around the sternum area when I'm generally moving around (no accompanying pain though). Just wondered if anyone else has experienced
