Why does my insides feel shaky when I go for a walk, then I feel I need something sweet
Shaky: Why does my insides feel shaky when I go... - Thyroid UK
Shaky
Do you have thyroid issues? Are you on Levo? If so recent blood test results would help
Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Is there a possibility of low blood sugar? If it happens when you exert yourself it may be an indication of pre diabetes..... before I was diagnosed I would often feel very trembly if I was late eating or exercising this would go away once I had eaten
Thank you for the replies, I am on the verge of getting diabetes I've been told so that may be the cause,
Rather than eating something sweet after a walk, eat protein before a walk. Protein will help you avoid hypoglycemia & not stress your pancreas.
Thanks, I will try that.
You didn't reply as to wether you are on thyroxine for hypothyroidism or not
If you are not yet diagnosed, or may be under medicated (many are) then you need full testing
For full Thyroid evaluation you ideally need TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested
See if you can get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3
Private tests are available

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results

I must have had a test as Iv had part of my other thyroid removed ( not related I don't think)
Then you most likely to need daily Levothyroxine. (Replacement Thyroid hormones)
Often patients can not manage with only half a thyroid
Strongly recommend full testing. Push to get as much tested by GP as possible, rest get privately
You must be tested annually. Post you last thyroid test results and members can advise
TSH should be around one and FT4 towards top of range and FT3 at least half way in range.
Thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting to give highest TSH
Have you had thyroid tests at all ? Although a hypOactive thyroid is more common, if you had a hypERactive thyroid, your metabolism would be likely to work overtime, which could also lead to low blood sugar, especially when you exert yourself.
