CLL and Skin Cancer
My husband has a small innocuous growth on the side of his nose prior to needing treatment for CLL. His doctor and dermatologist both said it did not look dangerous. He is now on cycle 8 of O+V. The growth began to bleed a couple of months ago, and his primary doc thought the dermatologist should take

Yet another procedure!!
I had a double cabg on 18th January this year and now have to have my gallbladder removed!! This hasnt come as a surprise!! I've known about it for a while. I've to follow a special diet for 2 weeks before the op. Everything weighed and measured!! Doing it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm wondering

Insulin working differently after cabg
Hi I've had a cabg x4. Before surgery my diabetes was stable using both a slow release and a fast acting insulin. Since the operation the insulin is reacting more strongly to the same foods & I can't seem get a balance without dropping - and whichever medics I ask they have no knowledge of this. I

I want to feel normal again
I had a CABG X 3. 5 months ago was hoping to feel at least a bit better by now but just feel worse. The cardiologist has said the way Iām feeling is nothing to do with the surgery. My chest pain is gone but Iām breathless and unable to walk far. I could walk farther a few weeks ago than I can now. I

Calling all patients who have had a heart valve surgery or a TAVI
Hello lovely ones! Some of you may know me already - I had a 2x CABG last Jan, aged 34. Well today is my 36th birthday! I am happy and healthy :D The reason I am posting is that I am hopefully moving in to the world of cardio industry, I was previously in clinical nutrition and artifical feeding.

Post cabg.2- 16wk recovery review
I recovered well, no issues, but my cardio was very slow, and this annoyed me because pre op i was quite fit.I didn't want the op and didn't believe i needed it.Plus i was scared. The surgeon wanted a four way and i definitely wasn't having that.I said i don't want it to to fail, not two years in or ten

Iāve made a year.
Hi all, well yesterday the 17th was my first birthday, 1 year since my quadruple CABG. There has been ups and downs and there still is, but Iām still here and thatās the main thing as I should never have survived the first HT according to the surgeon and other cardiologistās. I just hope it doesnāt go

Amelanotic Melanoma
Whilst amelanotic melanoma is relatively uncommon fatality rates tend to be higher because they often go undetected for longer, are often misdiagnosed because they mimic other skin lesions and are therefore commonly diagnosed at later stages. Any subtype of melanoma can be amelanotic. They can appear

Fluid retention after CABG
Hey guys,I was wondering if anyone has suffered from long term water retention after having a CABG (quadruple)? The reason I ask is because my father has been taking 40mg of Furosemide for the past 10 years and his legs have been slowly getting worse. Any help/suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

Tachycardia
Rather a long post Iām afraid. In 2000 I was 44 and developed unstable angina over 4 months. My husband had BUPA with his work so I saw a cardiologist quickly, put on aspirin, Bisoprolol and GTN. The cardiologist was always unsure whether it was a blockage to my LAD or a spasm and I was due to undergo

Sunbeds are a Group 1 Carcinogen!
š Sadly, way too may lives have been lost to sunbed use. They are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a Group 1 carcinogen - this is its highest cancer risk category. Furthermore, a review by IARC found that first exposure to sunbeds before the age of 35 years increases

athletes foot ?
Iāve always had problem with my pinky toe as it bends under my other toe. Itās never been this bad. Normally when itās sore and itchy I apply athlete foot cream and it goes within a few days as sweat gets trapped easily. Iāve been using athletes foot cream for 3 weeks now and I donāt think it is that

Triple Bypass side effect.
Since having my CABG in march I keep getting this spasm which rocks my body. I can only describe it as like half a hiccup. It makes me make a weird noise and happens about 10 times an hour. Does anyone know what this could be?
