I've been trying to get to the gym and been thrawted for some time.I have an over protective partner. She didn't like me going to the gym pre op and now even less so.However an overnight trip to Manchester with her chum means that while she waits for the Coronation street tour to start i am able to go

Depression ?
5 years now since bypass surgery, and my depression (if that's what it is) is getting worse. Nothing ever phased me before CABG, but now... I find myself crying at something sad on tv. I find myself crying at something happy on tv ! I find myself crying in a restaurant or pub, for no apparent reason

shoulder and back pain following CABG
I had a triple CABG 8 weeks ago now. I am finding it difficult to get back to moral activity because my shoulders ache and I have a strong ache between my shoulder blades at the top of my back. I kinda expected these aches in the early days because of positioning and trauma during surgery, But was not

Skin Cancer is the World’s most common cancer!
SKIN CANCER IS THE WORLD’S MOST COMMON CANCER! Check your skin monthly and get to know every lump, bump, mole, freckle and mark. Keep an eye out for anything NEW, that looks or feels UNUSUAL, or is CHANGING in size, shape, colour, surface characteristics or sensation - and if in doubt get it checked

A tip for Australians with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia trying to access pneumococcal vaccination through the National Immunisation Program
What a morning I've had to get my third pneumococcal vaccine. I'll share the details here as the solution I found could help others with CLL in Australia who are having difficulty accessing these vaccines through the National Immunisation Program (NIP). In Australia, since 1 July 2020, it's standard

High Dose Niacin (Nicotinic Acid) and Hashimoto's?
Update 01/22/2023: I just learned there is an increased risk of diabetes on niacin therapy: https://heart.bmj.com/content/102/3/198 This study was based on people taking Niacin for cardiovascular reasons, which I think would be dosed at 500 to 6000 mg a day: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements

The KC in Skcin

The devastation caused by her loss, made us determined to ensure her untimely death was not in vain. We wanted

Request for my views on rux
A couple of months ago I had a lesion removed from my nose and
skin

to cover the hole! However, it’s still a small price to pay for quality of life. Rux has given me back a good quality of life, hardly ever get fatigued any more. Good luck. Bruddery (Janice)

Views on running after CABG?
I suppose this is a addressed to people who used to run before their operation.I used to run and I wasn't very good.Pre op on a treadmill I could run at 5mph, or twelve minute mile pace, if I veered over this I might have chest discomfort and had to take a rest.I was warned not to exert myself but felt

Amy Callaghan MP’s VAT BURN campaign
Amy Callaghan MP’s VAT BURN campaign calls on the UK government to remove VAT from sunscreen products that have a health benefit. We should all know the health benefits that a “quality” (i.e. SPF 30+ product with a minimum 4 star UVA protection) sunscreen has on preventing the UK’s most common cancer

Post Cabg how soon do you think i can i lie on my side?
i asked the physiological this when i was still in and she said when i liked. To start with even slight movement was unthinkable,I lay and slept absolutely still.I would dream i was stretching and wake up with my arms braced. I've been lucky because i am fairly content on a pillow slope and laying stock

Amelanotic Melanoma
Whilst amelanotic melanoma is relatively uncommon fatality rates tend to be higher because they often go undetected for longer, are often misdiagnosed because they mimic other skin lesions and are therefore commonly diagnosed at later stages. Any subtype of melanoma can be amelanotic. They can appear

Why do I keep experiencing involuntary sharp intake of breath.
Hi I am m 3 weeks post CABG and increasingly I am experiencing sudden involuntary intake of breath. I can only describe it like when a child is sobbing and then suddenly draws in breath. My Sats are all good, breathing is otherwise normal. Has anyone else had this? 🥴

Angiogram results
Well yesterday was my test day. I posted about it was going to be an angioplasty but I didn’t really want stents if there was a problem I wanted another bypass as it’s so close to my Quad CABG being done last year then I’d rather get it fixed then repaired. I had a long chat with the cardiologist and

Why do the docs love prescribing these type of drugs. I never had them prior to my cabg. I have suffered the dizziness and light headed ness but it’s the overwhelming fatigue that gets me down. So last week l decided to record my b/p twice a day to see if that sheds any light on the situation. Long story
