Lyme disease test

Hi. I noticed after getting M.R.I scan in lower spine. With symptoms of lower back pain. Fatigue. Pain in back of both legs below the knee. Headaches. The neaurologist wrote that he would appreciate it if my g.p arranged a lyme disease test for me. I asked the hospital for the report as my g.p has a history of ignoring reports previously. I am so angry as he has not mentioned anything about it and I know he recieved the report 3weeks ago. I am now changing my g.p. but it will take maybe 3weeks. Should I wait and get lyme disease test with new g.p. has anyone had lyme disease test ????????

Sorry for your symptoms.

I would do a bit of research about Lyme Disease tests before you pay big money for an unreliable result.

There are Lyme Disease societies who would be very up to date on this subject.

I know the Elisse test is only 50% reliable and may give a lot of false results.

Did you ever get a Bull's eye rash? That is a definitive clue.

Lyme Disease is a huge area and many conflicting ideas about treatment, changing as each new research comes out.

My daughter has had it for over 10 years and still suffers bouts of fatigue.

Call a lawyer or the doctor’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and tell him/her that your GP is withholding test results from you. That is illegal.
