Hi. New to this forum. I had a heart attack and CABG x3 last October. I've since completed a cardiac rehabilitation course. Is the Couch to 5k programme suitable for me? Any advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Your question is one that you need to ask of those who know your medical history, but we have had many recovering from heart attacks successfully complete the programme, but that does not mean it is appropriate for you.

Enjoy your journey.

Many thanks for your response. Encouraging to know that many who have suffered heart attacks have completed the programme successfully but I will seek further advice as suggested. Thanks again.

We are not medical experts here on C25K, what this course is for is to get you off the couch and run for 30 minutes after 9 weeks, although you can take longer if you wish to, It involves gentle running, the best person to ask regarding your health is your doctor, he will advise you to start C25K or not.

Well done for getting through that period. Its a tough one. Best to ask your cardiac team when and how you can start. My partner has done this post CABG x 3 but took advice.

Thank you so much. Good to hear your partner has done this but I will take further advice as suggested. All the best.
