Sibo/Probiotics
I am nearly 10 years post op and have always had burping issues. But over the last 12 months its much worse. After the surgery we have had, I was told that excessive bloating or sulphur burps and slight nausea could be small intestine bacterial overgrowth as a possible cause. What are the tests for this

Diet and supplement help please
Diet was a huge issue with leaky gut and
SIBO
diagnosed with Dr Myhill, I was on the FODMAP diet but was stuck on the very restrictive exclusion section that I was not able to get off of without many symptoms.

Tetracycline
So a few weeks ago I mentioned I had the Hydrogen Breath Test to see if I had a bacterial overgrowth (
SIBO
) in my gut, and it came back positive. I'm now about to be prescribed the anti-biotic tetracycline and was wondering if anyone else has been on it?

New - looking for some advice please!
My nephew suffers with
SIBO
and had similar symptoms - would this explain high IGA levels? Could having this affect my immune system as I seem to have awful trouble fighting anything off especially this rash.

SIBO - Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth
Bear in mind that it has not been written for people who have had major Upper GI surgery, it is US-linked, and it does tend to link
SIBO
and heartburn, so you will have to pick and choose the parts of it that seem most relevant: http://howtotreatheartburn.com/
sibo
-and-heartburn/ There is also an article

Does anyone know if they do SIBO testing on the NHS?
Does anyone know if you can actually have
SIBO
testing on the NHS? If you can, it makes a big difference to my argument with him - and I'll surely have to have one. Any advice most gratefully received....

Mebeverine reactions
I think my problem is
SIBO
and related to an increase in bad bacteria due to the reduced acid levels in my gut (an effect of the PPI Omeprazole). Again I would be interested to hear your experiences. Many thanks.

Tired. Feel like giving up the battle.
At first, it was suspected
SIBO
. Antibiotics got rid of it, and I was happy. But recently - or should I say - 5 months prior, I started belching. Wasn't a problem much because apart from the belching, I could eat. My appetite was there.

Does anyone know why Lactulose is not recommended for IBS sufferers?
I know they use Lactulose for breath tests - in
SIBO
testing? - so I'm wondering if I have inadvertently caused a bacterial overgrowth through using Lactulose. Does anyone know why Lactulose is not recommended for IBS sufferers?

It feels like I'm getting sicker
The naturopath pointed out that it is unlikely to be
SIBO
because that usually gets better when one hasn't eaten anything in hours (such as during sleep). I'm wondering if it could be gastric atrophy and low stomach acid.

Tests
Ive had about enough so am going to request some more tests including, upper endoscopy (the last one was almost 5 years ago), breath test (i have read a lot about
SIBO
and think it might be causing my problems) and tests for deficiency (i suspect i am deficient in a number of nutrients/vitamins).
