update on SIBO and antibiotics
firstly thank you so much for all your comments because you gave me the confidence to start the rifamixin course. I am now on day 5 of 3 x 550gm tabs daily for 10 days. Yesterday was my first fairly ok day in ages so I’m beginning to hope I may get some relief, which will be wonderful. My gastro report

Sibo & Diet
My dietitian told me at the start that there is no evidence it helps scleroderma &
sibo
as it’s mainly a motility issue. Any feedback would be appreciated!!. Many thanks

I've just been diagnosed with
SIBO
after a year of unrelenting diarrhoea following food poisoning at a festival. Also with severe methylation difficulties, B vitamin deficiencies and in particular B12 deficiency.

Small bowel intestinal overgrowth
I have been diagnosed by my gastroenterologist with
sibo
after a breath test. The treatment prescribed is xifaxan. I’m waiting for approval by insurance. I’m also in treatment for CLL with Zanubrutinib which I began in May last year.

IBS, SIBO bad breath
Hi everyone, I have a quick question, since GIs here can't help me, I have come here to ask for a piece of advice from you. My IBS symptoms come and go, I am constantly on pro/prebiotics, and my GI keeps on changing the supplements, but my symptoms flare up whenever I have a stress( I started to notice

STEROID TAPER - PREDNISOLONE AND BUDESONIDE
As I have abdominal issues (Crohn’s flare, atrophic gastritis and hydrogen
SIBO
) and my Gastro put me on a short course of Budesonide with a taper from 9mg, 6mg to 3mg over a period of about 9 weeks. Each time I reduced the dose, I felt dreadful fatigue necessitating sleeps in the day.

Reaching out to other sufferers
And is it worth investing in dieticians and some of the expensive tests like
SIBO
? There's some very interesting posts on here, and information. I'm glad I've joined, thanks.

Abdominal Distension
Had private
SIBO
test which was positive for hydrogen. Took Rifaxamin - no improvement. 2024 Belly size up to 37". No weight gain. So, apart from abdominal distension and much gurgling of tummy at night, and possible malabsorption (low calcium causing osteoporosis?)

I also am going to test for
SIBO

“Levothyroxine therapy is a stronger predictor of SIBO than hypothyroidism”
Having battled
SIBO
for years, looking back it definitely got worse after I went on Levothyroxine. I had no idea that Levothyroxine itself is even more associated with
SIBO
than hypomotility , and that Levo is a stronger predictor of
SIBO
than hypothyroidism.

Gastroscopy
Hi everyone, I am an IBS/
SIBO
sufferer, and I have recently been booked in for a gastroscopy, and I would like to get some advice from any of you guys who might have had this procedure done before. My main symptoms mostly revolve around indigestion, severe bloating, and gut spasms.

Does anyone have SIBO and IBS?
Last month my gastroenterologist agreed to send me a breath test kit (I’m sure it was just to shut me up lol) and lo and behold it’s come back positive for
SIBO
. I have an appointment in a month to discuss the findings. I’m not sure if this means I have IBS and
SIBO
or just the

Previously she advised I had
SIBO
and was prescribed rifaximin. That antibiotic did not solve my problem. I am suffering with excessive gas, trapped wind and bloating. I have been on laxido for around two years as it appeared that I was constipated.

Got better with the antibiotics, resumed normal life and since then am until now on a lowfod map diet for the

. 7 months and half later have lost 5 kg ( which i atributed to the diet and

itself which causes it ) .

Food sensitivities
I have considered leaky gut or
sibo
as possible explanations but my symptoms don’t quite fit either.. I did low fodmap in the past, and experienced a huge improvement in symptoms, but I had been on dairy before that, so thought that may have been why. Maybe low Fodmap is worth a try again?
