Addison’s and running

I am now on week 8 and amazed how far I have come , had to repeat a couple of runs but have stuck with it . Gone from not being able to run at the beginning to running 28 minutes non stop. Shin splints have been an issue but with the compression socks and running off toad this has improved .Just wondering how to increase my stride and pace now ? I have not increased my Addison’s medication and seem to be coping should I increase this anyway does anyone else have Addison’s ?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Please do not try to increase stride length......that can lead to shin splints and knee problems.

The recommended pace for C25k is one at which you can speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run.........if not, you are going too fast.

Let this define your pace.

Enjoy your journey.
