I joined this group in Jan after a devastating Stage 4 OC diagnosis in Dec. 7 rounds of chemo, an emergemcy op (that resulted in a stoma), debaulking surgery (and stoma reversal) and Covid since then. Asthma Medical Wristband
Hi everyone, sorry for not posting in a long long time. Since Feb 2020 my Asthma has been on a downhill spiral. 18 admissions in 2020 alone and over 7 this year so far. I'm knackered! Does anyone have any recommendations for a Asthma Medical Wristband? I'm keen to get one. I try not to wear metal wristbands

Last night I had a
severe
asthma
attack, probably the worst one yet. Had to wait for over 5 hrs to even get obs done at which point I was struggling a lot, and began to get incredibly dizzy due to having them take my blood/place a cannula, my breathing was worsening.

Fresh ginger works !!
I had asthma attack a few days ago. The mucus was blocking my throat that made me difficult to breath. So I ran into the kitchen and put a slice of ginger into my mouth. After chewing it for about a minute , I started to feel it was working . I continued to have fresh ginger tea on the following days

Anyone else with EDS have severe asthma?
I’m just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation as me and has EDS and
severe
, uncontrolled
asthma
? Now I know that the two aren’t linked but I’m just curious.

Adenomyosis and Endometriosis
I have been told that I have adenomyosis and endometriosis. I am having a really bad time at the moment. I have bowel issues and its causing me so much pain. Hoping to see specialist in the next few weeks. Hoping they will offer me surgery to tone down the pain that I am having. I have had a resection

Skin reactions to fostair
Asthma
seemed worse . Couldn’t sleep . I suffer from
severe
eczema . This has been appalling since going on fostair . It’s so bad that I’ve reached the point where I need prednisone for my eczema .

Singer with Severe/Brittle Asthma (non-allergic)
I now have
severe
and unpredictable
asthma
that is difficult to control with inhalers - GP thinks it's brittle. However I'm a singer! A classical one at that! My living relies heavily on my voice.

Parents of children with asthma
How do you help your child to manage their asthma? Children often feel more confident and in control if they are encouraged to help manage their own asthma. Even very young children can start doing little things to help care for themselves. If you have a young child, encourage them to carry their reliever

Told no more asthma
Hello i was diagnosed with asthma in 2013 after periods of breathing problems. I took clenil daily and through my pf readings they improve when I have taken it, when I wasn't taking and when I'm ill I get a maximum score of 400 but when triggers such as dust and I'm away from work I hit 550 to 600.

Fewer people sought medical help for severe asthma attacks during the COVID-19 pandemic
Fewer patients with severe attacks were seen by their GP or admitted to hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, and fewer were admitted to hospital for pneumonia, influenza and chronic lung diseases, show findings from three papers published online in the journal Thorax. Early in the pandemic, asthma

Type 2 diabetes medication shown to benefit asthma patients.
Type 2 diabetes patients who also have asthma are benefitting from a diabetes medication, typically given to help the pancreas produce more insulin, that also improves asthma symptoms and may reduce lung and airway inflammation. These types of medication — GLP-1 receptor agonists — are a newer class

International study suggests alternative treatment for mild asthma
A large international study led by a McMaster researcher has found a patient-centric treatment that works for people with mild asthma. People with mild asthma are often prescribed a daily treatment regimen, but up to 80 per cent do not follow the routine, using inhalers only when they have an asthma
