Asthma Returned?
I had asthma as a child and it faded out when I was about 16. I suffered occasional wheezing if walking in a cold wind but did not need any medication. I am now 61 and had a general anaesthetic in April and began with asthma-like symptoms in May, but not sure if this is related. Have had antibiotics

Hi , in desperate need to discover the cause of excruciating right flank pain which came, without injury, 6 weeks ago. Comes daily say, each afternoon, even when on prescribed rest. Pain lasts 6 to 8 hours and I get no relief even from opiate analgesia. No problem first thing following morning except

Colorectal endo lap- share experiences please?
Hi everyone, so I finally went private after months and months of waiting on the NHS. I've been told by my new consultant that he thinks another laparoscopy should be performed, and he is likely to have space in his clinic in November. I have stage four endo with my bowel and uterus stuck together, so

Waiting times York gynaecologist?
Does anyone know waiting times for York gynaecologist referrals? I’ve struggled with endometriosis for 20years. In the last 5 years I’ve had lots of pain and problems with ovarian cysts. I also have Crohn’s disease and 13 years ago had part of bowel removed and a temporary stoma. Because of my previous

Non-allergic asthma? Is montelukast and antihistamine needed?
Hi. I have asthma and have just received allergy testing results requested by my consultant which have been negative- so not shown any allergies at all to dust/ pollen etc. which I am shocked about as dust and pollen are my main triggers and I have been on nasal sprays for rhinitis which I assumed was

For those with
severe
asthma
, did it ever improve your symptoms. Because I now use my reliever inhaler up to 5 times a day and this scares me a lot

Puzzled by asthma symptoms and then no symptoms
Last year I suffered from symptoms that lead me to suspect late onset asthma. On several occasions I woke in the night with difficulty breathing. I was suffering from frequent coughing fits and on two terrifying occasions found my self gasping for breath after a short walk. Phone conversations with

Portable spacer?
Hi, I’ve just been recently diagnosed with
asthma
that can be slightly
severe
esp during this weather, so it requires carrying my inhalers and spacer with me at all times. However, my job keeps me on my feet and away from my office, I cannot bring anything big in my pocket either.

Confused about oesteoparosis and asthma
I was admitted to AMU at my local hospital and when the consultant came to my bedside he said that i have not had my usual
severe
exaserbation of
asthma
but my lungs have been subject to Oesteoparosis, due to the amount of steroids which I have to take on a daily basis.

Drastically worse IBS-C/constipation for no apparent reason, after 19 years
Hi - I am posting to see if anyone has ever had a very sudden and drastic worsening in their symptoms of IBS-C/problems emptying the bowel? I have had IBS-C/constipation for nearly 20 years, and 10 years ago it got far worse after a surgery. Since that time it improved and has been consistent for

Long-term asthma recovery queries
Hi all, I suppose this is a general question about long-term asthma recovery, as this is uncharted territory for me. Or if it's even asthma-related. In May 2020, I had several asthma attacks, which heavily restricted my mobility for the remainder of the year. I used to go to the gym twice a week, play

18 month old with an asthma cough
My child is 18 months and has already been diagnosed with asthma. His cough has started again and is worse at night. We are giving him his inhaler every 2-3 hours and also his brown one too. Does anyone have any tips on asthma coughs?

Not every breathing symptom is asthma!
I was most concerned that I wouldn’t know what was asthma and what was covid in terms of symptoms - but was surprised and pleased that, when the covid breathing symptoms appeared, they were very very different to my (
severe
and frequent)
asthma
symptoms.

There's a link between paediatric asthma and neighbourhoods that flood—especially low-income ones, researchers say
Researchers at Old Dominion University have sought for years to understand the many ways repeated flooding affects residents of Hampton Roads, Virginia. They’ve homed in on how increased flooding impacts quality of life, traffic, the sinking of land and more. Now a pair of ODU researchers has set out
