Montelukast Timing
I'm taking Montelukast for asthma which seems to be working well.....although a few occasions I have got very wheezy/SOB in the evening....I don't take the montelukast until as late as possible (around 11pm) as it says you need to take it in the evening.....if you take this tablet for asthma, what time

If it is not asthma, could there be something wrong with my lungs? 🤔🤔
I often hear of people with
severe
asthma
on forums, who have their asthma well controlled and are able to go on daily runs. They only need to use their blue inhaler every now and then whilst running.

Help! Asthma getting out of control?!?!
Hi everyone! I have eosinophilic asthma and was discharged by my consultant last year and to go back to him if things get out of control again. Here’s my dilemma...’out of control’ to my consultant means a low peak flow and the need to use steroids. But I have been coughing for the last two months...

One (or more) steps forward- at last!
Some 17 months after being diagnosed with
severe
asthma
, I have finally had my first hospital respiratory appointment! Up to now, despite being on many medications and continuous steroids since January, I had not even had any blood tests or chest x-ray.

Another update
All going on here I can tell you! So as you all know I had the emergency loop colostomy about 6 weeks ago. All was going well. Friday 2nd July had some low level stomach pain around 5pm and then the stoma prolapsed about 4 inches. Long story short, emergency op at local hospital for a refashioned stoma

Vegan diet with ileostomy for low methionine
Hi , Does anyone manage a vegan diet successfully with an ileostomy? I had chemo then radical debulking last October then chemo till January. I’m currently on 3 weekly Avastin but my Ca125 is increasing . There is evidence that methionine ( an amino acid in protein ) ‘ feeds the cancer’ . A low methionine

What is your experience with child asthma diagnosis?
I am researching for the asthma UK child diagnosis web pages. I'd like to know what your experiences have been with getting your child diagnosed. It would be great to know what the process was like for you and what tips you might give other parents going through that process... Thanks!

Flare-ups, niggles, etc!
Just re-sharing EmmaF91 's brilliant post for "what to do and when" as I've noticed various posts in the last couple of weeks with people having issues (or possible issues). At this time of year, issues are highly likely with it being spring (and not having pollen or weather changes as a known trigger

Suggestions for coping
My physical health is quite poor due to

and long term steroids have caused

weakness in my legs and I use a 4 wheel walker and can't walk for than about 20 yards or so. I'm also a single parent and have little support and no family. Any suggestions for coping with recovery?

Better ways to diagnose asthma.....
An interesting read... Could a blood test one day diagnose if someone has asthma? That’s what researchers at the University of Southampton are trying to find out. The team is studying whether substances in blood could show if someone is more likely to develop asthma and also what type of asthma. The

Nightime Breathlessness
Hi I regularly waken during the night distressed, gasping for air, feeling like I can't breathe. Could this be related to my asthma? Or just night mares? Not pleasant either way! Has anyone else had this with asthma? Thanks x
