Asthma Medical Wristband

Hi everyone, sorry for not posting in a long long time. Since Feb 2020 my Asthma has been on a downhill spiral. 18 admissions in 2020 alone and over 7 this year so far. I'm knackered!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a Asthma Medical Wristband? I'm keen to get one. I try not to wear metal wristbands as they can irritate my skin.

Hope you are all keeping well as can be and the humidity is not keeping you up.

Hi, sorry to hear you been suffering hopefully you been getting the right support and medication. Amazon sell silicone wristbands with asthma written on them and some can have what meds your on, ideal if on long term steroids etc.

Hope this helps.

Hi, that sounds stressful! Hope you can find something that helps soon.

Is it any metal you have difficulty with? I got mine from Amazon and it's stainless steel which I understood was less of an issue for skin problems. This seller does a range (I think including non-metal bands) and the engraving is free. Mine is really for adrenal insufficiency so I had my name, year of birth, 'Adrenal Insufficiency/Severe Asthma' on it.

As Andy says you can also get silicone ones. Road ID do bands you can customise (they are US but I think sell in the UK).

The idbandco.com do silicone wristbands- very good value, you can put medication details on, very efficient and not too expensive.

I also keep a summary of my medical issues, meds and Consultant contact details on a piece of paper tucked between my phone and it’s case. I always have my phone with me even if I don’t have my bag so is an ideal place to keep key info. My friends and family all know it is there should it be needed in an emergency. It is also worth keeping up to date medical ID which is on every phone and can be accessed without need for any code from the locked screen. All very useful if you have a severe attack and means you can get appropriate care even if you can’t speak/string more than a couple of words together!
