DA Withdrawal
I'm now past my day 3 of the dopamine agonist withdrawal. I had been taking 0.125/0.0625 mg of Pramipex for the last seven months or so but decided to stop with the fear of augmentation and the fact that Pramipex had clearly made me dependent. A night without Pramipex started to mean that I would get

Interesting use for SSRI antidepressants

What are the odds?
I've been dealing with late stage PSP with my husband who has had the misfortune to have not one but two rare diseases! When he was born he had Hirschprung's disease and had most of his bowel removed (wore a bag for a year until they reattached his plumbing) So as you can imagine he has been plagued

A useful video on protein, detoxing, MTHFR, fatty liver, neurotransmitters by Ari Whitten and Chris Masterjohn.
https://www.theenergyblueprint.com/protein-detox-fatty-liver-and-more/ This is worth a listen if you have time. It covers a range of topics. Interesting points on needing choline to detox, adding b2 might be enough for people with mthfr mutations to return to normal methylation levels, are you eating

Consolidation run no. 1 & 2
So, following the death of my friend of 8 years on Saturday (my treadmill), I went for a joddle outside on Monday morning, what a comedy of errors that was, first off, I didn't wear socks, I had grit getting into my trainers (only thing I can think of is that it was coming in the heel area as my Skechers

Week 5 - Day 3 - the big leap!
For most of the 48 hours between Week 5 days two & three I was so excited to make the big leap to 20 minutes. The rest day yesterday felt like it would never pass. I wanted so badly to finish day three. But then I went to bed. I actually did a bit of tossing and turning trying to face the fear of

Well, I don’t mind admitting this, that was the hardest run I’ve done since we started. Maybe I haven’t drunk enough water today, or maybe it was just too hot, but my legs were heavy whole way round, I had stitches for the first time, and I was wheezing like a 90-year-old on the gentle inclines. That

Parkrun #5
Well, after a week on the Injury Couch, it felt amazing to get my kit on and make it to Parkrun this morning. I really wanted to beat my pb of 41.09 and I *think* I have done it. Waiting impatiently for my official PR time... Did my usual trick of forgetting to switch mapmyrun off as soon as I had finished

Alpha 1 antitrypsin question please
Hi- can anyone help? My GP recently requested a blood test for alpha-1 antitrypsin due to some wheezing I have, and a strong family history of COPD. The blood test that was carried out was Serum protein electrophoresis, which came back normal. I asked the GP if A1AT is included in that and she said yes

My 3 kids are still bed wetting
My son age 12 and 2 daughters age 11 are still wet nightly. We’ve tried desmopressin and have alarms. We’ve stopped pull-ups for the summer holidays as the girls start secondary school in September and my son moves into y8. We’ve done bladder measuring and ultrasound- nothing wrong. I can’t take much

incomums ( mums of incontinent kids. I invented the term) are superheroes!
Just worked out it’s been 1500 days since our daughter started potty training. We’ve made no progress at all. Despite maybe 100 appointments, various medication etc etc. No better than 1500 days ago. Wee and poo accidents ( lots) daily. No better than a baby. Some days I still feel I’m going mad. Though
