So, following the death of my friend of 8 years on Saturday (my treadmill), I went for a joddle outside on Monday morning, what a comedy of errors that was, first off, I didn't wear socks, I had grit getting into my trainers (only thing I can think of is that it was coming in the heel area as my Skechers have a triangular cut out there), when the running started I ran past several groups of geese, all with young, all wanting defend said youngsters; my Bluetooth headset kept falling out of my ears, not an issue I normally have on the treadmill.
Result was I ran for just over 1.5 miles before I had to empty my trainers to get the grit out, it was painful.
That was run no. 1, however, yesterday a box was dropped off at my house from the running fairy, there's no prize for guessing what it is.
This is the updated version of my old treadmill, found a few little niggles, like it doesn't tell you your pace (it does tell you speed obviously so you can work it out easy enough).
I set it up last night ready for this morning, oiled the belt and prepped everything.
This morning I was up and ready to go, popped on the W9 podcast and gave the treadmill it's first going over. Since running at a faster pace last week in the hotel I've upped my base speed slightly 0.2 - 0.5 kph as I know I can now maintain that pace for 30 minutes without pushing too hard.
I have 2 weeks before my holidays, my hotel has a gym so I will be aiming to run a minimum of 1-2 times a week plus snorkelling plus scuba (2 days of diving already booked, swimming with dolphins and a fishing trip too).
Happy running everyone.
