New member, saying hi! Here for my daddy! =)
It turns out that it wasn't lifting that was causing the pain, but rather that his prostate tumor had caused his kidneys to shut down and had sent him into
renal
failure
. His PSA was 257, his kidneys were shutting down and he had metastasis to a nearby lymph node.

Puffy eyes?
Hello everyone. I have been diagnosed with IGA nephropathy (CKD3) earlier this year. I have been retaining a lot of fluid and in particular, have very puffy eyes (worse in the morning but puffy throughout the day). I have tried cooling eye masks, cold tea bags, ice, puffy eye cream. All with no improvement

A-Fib suffer for over 8 years
Been on flecadine 150 mg 2times a day and Bystolic 2.5 mg 1 time a day with a host of other medications. Just had my 1st A-Fib surgery on the 07/11/2018 and I was wondering if having small bouts of skipped heart beats and the normal A-Fib issues are “normal” after surgery? If so do these fade with the

Finally Got The Call
Hello Everyone, It’s been a while since I’ve been on here; probably about 4 years now. I think that was when I was going on APD I asked for advice. I did go on CAPD, then APD. Unfortunately, after 2 really bad peritonitis and a lot of drama, my peritoneum failed. I was immediately mapped for a fistula

Hepatic Encepalopathy medications (Lactulose and Rifamixin OR L-ornithine and L-aspartate)
Which medication would be better to treat HE. The doctor is giving my mom L-ornithine and L-aspartate. My mom has HE and is suffering from delusions which are getting worse. I told my sister that Lactulose is a common medication to treat HE as I have read on the internet and told her to ask the doctor

WHEN LIFE DECIDES TO POOP ON YOU...
Not 2 hrs later the vet called to tell me that the bloodwork that they always do before dental work showed that his kidney disease had advanced to end stage
renal
failure
and she wasn't going to do the dental but was going to push fluids all day and again the next day to see if she could get the BUN

I'm old but I'm new to this site......
I remember sitting there as she turned around in her chair, screwed up her face and said, "Stage three
renal
failure
, wow". I didn't skip a beat on the outside but on the inside my blood ran cold. I was numb for a minute or two, the blood flowing out of my limbs towards my heart and brain.

The Myth that T3 causes Heart Problems?
I am always reading that GPs/Endos. say that excess T3 can cause heart attacks/irregular beats and yet I also read that T3 protects the heart; who is right. Here is a small extract from one of the studies I have read: Patients with heart disease frequently display a typical pattern of altered thyroid

Puzzled
30 yrs ago I had an irregular heartbeat when at the doctors it went into normal rate pretty soon and I only knew because I was told so. This happened every 2/3 years after this. About 18 months ago I was told I was in permanent AF I cannot feel it and my HR is always about 88. I have seen cardiologists

My GFR was 11 a week ago and now tests show it is 108! How is this possible?
She made me come back 4 days later, asked me a ton of questions about symptoms I was having, and diagnosed me with stage 5
renal
failure
and diagnosed me as having early stages of heart failure because my Natriuretic peptide level was 19,224 when normal range is 0-125.

Change from adeport to envarsus
So this evening marks 3 weeks since hubby's liver transplant, however Tuesday he was readmitted to hospital after blood tests revealed potassium was too high. Today his adeport was changed to envarsus which is taken once a day as it is slow release & he was discharged. Just wondering if anyone else has

Wish this was true....but...hmmm
Renal
failure
has occurred. The majority of patients with chronic kidney disease rarely progress beyond Stage 2. It is important for kidney disease to be diagnosed and treated early for serious damage to be prevented.

What is Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney Disease, which is always shorted as CKD, is a medical term used to describe the progressive loss of kidney function over several months or years. CKD in early stage is not deadly and also it causes no obvious discomforts. However, without effective and timely control, it progresses over
