A-Fib suffer for over 8 years

Been on flecadine 150 mg 2times a day and Bystolic 2.5 mg 1 time a day with a host of other medications.

Just had my 1st A-Fib surgery on the 07/11/2018 and I was wondering if having small bouts of skipped heart beats and the normal A-Fib issues are “normal” after surgery? If so do these fade with the healing or was the surgery a failure?

Thank you for allowing me in the group

Of course they are normal - congratulations on getting the surgery done! I’m surprised your cardiologist didn’t mention that skipped beats and even AF like symptoms are common as your heart is healing - the first 3-4 months are not considered when assessing the success of the surgery (blanking period). There should be a fact sheet about this. Rest and avoid stressing your body during this period. I am confident they will settle - wonderful that you’ve taken this step

There is Thomps. AF Association has a "Recovering from Ablation fact sheet with these and many other likely events to stop people worrying.
