I have received my Free T3 and Reverse T3 and would appreciate some help in understanding the ratio. Free T3 5.8 (3.1 - 6.8 pmo1/L) Reverse T3 27.9 (9 -35 ng/dl) Using this calculator: http://scriptessentials.com/thyroidconverter/ (Stop the Thyroid calculator did not have the conversion I needed)

Worries of heart failure
I have been feeling especially weak tired and fatigued the past two weeks. So much to the point of not being able to ride my bike or go on walks more than 20 minutes long. If I do I feel like I'm going to pass out. I've also been getting upper back, chest and jaw pain. Lots of breathlessness. Finding

Who do you talk to when you feel very down?
I feel like I haven't been allowed to be honest to anyone about how very down I feel. Being ambivolent about accepting renal replacement therapy has led to wild accusations from doctors - that I am begging for money, manipulative. They don't seem to get it - some of us have been so bullied by bad partners

Did anyone else have an aha moment - when you realised what could have been and what your loved ones must have gone through?
In Feb this year I went for a routine laparoscopic adhesiolys (my third) and it went wrong and I ended up with a perforated bowel and by the time they picked it up and transferred me to the other hospital I was in septic shock with
renal
failure
and fluid in my lungs.

Renal Transplant Optimisation Trial - Positive T-Antibody
A score of 100 or below is about normal, 120 is the point that recognises
renal
failure
, 188 is where I was when I was first diagnosed back in 1999, and 1,000 is not unreasonable if you are on dialysis.

Again, I couldn't believe it as I had been thinking of applying for a disabled parking permit - my husband has one as a result of chronic
renal

but often he had been able to walk to shops etc whereas I would struggle!

Does anybody have Heart Failure (therefore on Betablockers) and also take T3
Im asking as my elderly mother has hf (she is on medication and has no symptoms), however, she is quite unwell with tired heavy legs and generally no energy, this has been going on for approx 12 months, she's on antibiotics quite often for diverticulitis. I asked her Dr this week if T3 would give her

My Mum uses this web site as she has an underactive thyroid. I am at my wits end as to how I can procede with her so I thought I'd ask the experts (i.e. people who have the disease!). My Mum had her Armour thyroid stopped 4 years ago because her hormone levels were too high. Since then she has refused

What is the risk to my heart?
First time post. I've been diagnosed with permanent AF and cardiologist has told me that I will have an ablation to sort out this 'nuisance'. (Age 45, non-smoker/drinker, no underlying heart problems according to echo-scan). My question is...what is the risk to me if I push myself physically? Could I

Mother of 93 frightened after been told that she has Heart Failure
My mother was admitted with a chest infection to A&E and is now on a ward but while they were doing their checks they found she was in AF. They have put her on Warfarin and nothing else? What has upset her the most is the fact that they told her she has Heart Failure and will have to have warfarin

Mobility Scooter
Well, I have given in and now got myself a mobility scooter. This was because I really struggled, even on 5 litres Oxygen, a couple of weeks ago when I went to Newcastle with my husband (first time in Town this year). I mentioned this to my Respiratory Consultant and said I was thinking of either starting

Constipation and Kidney Failure. Does anyone have any advice, or ideas about the management of chronic constipation in Peritoneal Dialysis.
I am a PD patient on four daily fluid exchanges. Since my last PD catheter was fitted in Feb14, I have been diagnosed with gastro-paresis. Constipation is chronic and my Bowel has slowed down to hardly function at all, only going every four days, even with lactulose, docusate, movicol, senna! I am getting
