Has Anyone heard of this I'm tempted to do it but not sure. This is the begining of message.
We are conducting a new research study about the impact of cardiovascular diseases on the quality of life of people who are living with these conditions.
We are currently searching for people with one of the following conditions:
o Bradycardia (people wearing peacemakers)
o Heart Failure (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy)
o Atrial Fibrillation (A mix of cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation)
I have taken part in research in the past. I found some of it useful, it also allowed for some tests that would not have been done otherwise. In all the cases before the study started I recieved a medical and further info. In some cases I did not fit the needs of the study, or was too unwell and did not go further.
The ones I took part in were useful and as my condition could pass to my kids I thought it worthwhile. However it must suit you and your life and not add to the stress etc you live with!
Thank you for your reply I have always ignored all these sort but feeling little ignored so thought if they find anything wrong or different with my health someone would have to listen.
To be honest I only took part in the first test as it had some tests that I wanted done! The crew doing the tests were chatty and you got to speak to a Dr for an hour instead of ten minutes! So depends on the balance really, needles, poking and prodding, but on the other hand an MRI etc
who is asking? Is it a hospital, a pharm. company,a professional body whose credentials you can trace.Do not info. in my opinion to people who cannot tell you about themselves or have a recognisable name and son on.That is my view anyway. But also be guided by what others say here.
Its from Opinion Health it came through this site this is the rest of email
If you have ever been diagnosed with one of the above conditions, we would like to invite you to participate in a web assisted telephone interview that would last approximately 60 minutes.
If you are interested in taking part in this study, please click on the following link:
As a token of our appreciation, you would receive an incentive of £40 as a way of thanking you for your participation. During the interview, we would be interested in gaining more insights that would allow us to gain more perspective on how this condition affects your daily living. We would be also asking for your feedback regarding some materials which would be presented to you during your interview.
If you have any questions about this study or experience any difficulties and need assistance, please contact us, either by writing us an e-mail to: info@Opinionhealth.com or by calling us on the following phone no.: 0207 486 6700.
If you are being critical about my email I have good reason to be doubtful. Through a similar email i have been hacked and also I have problem with my sight. I was only asking if anyone else had the email to see if it was genuine. If you are or was school teacher I don't rate your sympathy for someone who has many health problems and just asking advice. I have only twice I think asked advice on here before but i don't think I shall again
I will say thank you for your comment as I was brought up to be polite
Many apologies @CarolBic, I was in no way criticising you, but casting doubt on the professionalism of the people at the source of the research. I thought I made that very clear but I’m sorry if I didn’t.
It was meant to be a lighthearted poke at them, not you.
Aw, don’t let my inability to express myself stop you from commenting. We all need each other and I found it a really interesting post, as did many others obviously, judging by the number of replies.
As regards feeling low, I find that keeping in mind that anxiety and depression are often caused by heart problems, so they have a physical source, not necessarily a mental one, and that helps.
Don't leave or stop contributing Carol. No one was "having a poke at you" each member on here is respected and important to the success of the forum. POrtnahapp1e was having laugh at the unprofessional way the survey was written and the grammatical errors contained in their correspondence to you. Keep well and keep posting Carol. Roy
