Just had an episode of Acute Renal Failure and feeling quite distressed
I spent last week in the hospital with an episode of Acute
Renal
Failure
. My physicians think it was caused by a combination of the cirrhosis, side effects of my diuretic medications, and dehydration. They think my kidneys will probably recover well, but it's "wait and see."

Greetings i have had MPA for about nine years now and have been a member of the group most of that time. With the help of my excellent doctors I have managed to outrun most of the nasty effects of Vasculitis but I fear the disease is finally catching up with me. I went to my regular quarterly review/

Still waiting
I had a blood test last year in August and when the results came back from the lab they showed that my bnp level is extremely high. I asked the GP exactly how high to be told that the level is 1221 and she'd expect to see that level in an 87 year old woman, I'm 47 years old. She then went on to refer

Does Afib go on to become heart failure
I'm 64 and following a massive pulmonary embolism last year they discovered I have afib. On Xarelto, Bisoprolol and Amlodipine for life for both conditions now and I have had one cardioversion, which lasted three days. They don't know if PE caused the afib, or the afib caused the PE - I suspect the latter

CAPD and night sweats
I have been on peritoneal dialysis for nearly two months. While things are going well in general, I am suffering from occasional excessive sweats. I wake up with soaking bedsheets and pillow, soggy hair and general sticky, sweaty body. Can anyone throw light on this condition?

Hello my Husband was admitted to our local hospital in August 2019 , with a huge fluid build up, whilst in there it was mentioned he had Heart failure and trace of asbestos in his lungs. On discharge there was no mention of any lung problems and he has been seen by HF nurses. 7 months down the line

Sepsis for a Christmas on top of everything else
I spent 6 hours in resus where I went into
renal
failure
. (This has mostly resolved) Once stabilised I was transferred to a side ward because I then caught influenza A. I have just come home and am trying to get used to being absolutely exhausted.

Permanent AF and A flutter but rate control reasonable but permanent erratic rhythm AF is this something you can live ?
Permanent AF and A flutter- rate reasonable but rhythm not AV node ablation was on the cards but not now as rate under control, I am little concerned as I do have moderate heart failure as well. I have a pacemaker to control bradycardia and sinus pauses which is great, but the rhythm is so erratic

prostate cancer in bladder - removed - now renal failure
It's hard to tell what's going on but I believe he's having kidney (
renal
failure
) - fatigue, no appetite, nausea, confused. Hospice nurse prescribed a steroid prednisone 20 mg which seems to have reanimated him.

I find if you go on the internet it can be quite scary if you read about AF it can lead to heart damage and other complications. Is this a real concern or as long as we are controlling Af like I am with medications anticoagulant and keeping BP done and diabetes type 2 under control it is not necessarily

Sudden drop in GFR due to dehydration?
He wrote acute
renal
failure
on my discharge paperwork, which scared me more (but now I have read more about it and calmed down some lol) Could dehydration really take your GFR down that low?

Inulin - may help sleep and constipation
My daughter recently bought me some inulin to try as she had heard it can help you sleep. I can't honestly say it helped me sleep at the time, but a side effect is that it is helpful with bowel movements!! More recently I took some on holiday with me - for my bowels, and this time I do think it helped
