I was given digoxin in hospital to slow an AF episode so maybe a bit extra as your cardiologist suggested would work for you. A nurse friend told me the effects of digoxin were remembered as SSS - strong, slow and stable.

I assume that your potassium has been checked as the furosomide can cause low potassium which can contribute to AFib. Also I would ask your EP if Flecinide might be useful. I assume you are in the UK where Dofetilide is unavailable, but it has controlled my AFib for 2 years. Best of luck..

Hello Malcolm, for reasons I’m sure you will understand, because we are not medically trained, we are unable to offer advice on medication but that doesn’t prevent folk from sharing their personal experiences. I only mention this because it’s very important that you don’t make any changes to your medication without consulting your doctor.........

I only have paroxysmal AF no other issues. On one visit to A and E I was given 2 x one off doses of digoxin but it didn't get me out of AF. at the time and it's never been offered again.

Hi, I did reply but can’t see my message!

I have mitral valve repair and persistent AF. Have been in Digoxin for about 10 Years . No side effects ! I can’t take any beta blockers. It seems people poo poo Digoxin but it has worked for me . I take it daily.

I have heart failure and been offered so many drugs i've lost count but the best thing is an icd/crt but depends on how low your ejection fraction & if you have left bundle branch if they offer you one it seems.
