I need moral support
My friend is fighting end stage
renal
failure
and I am trying to be supportive but his violent mood swings and personal attacks are hard to take even though I know he doesn't mean them.

Anoushica shares her journey of lupus to kidney failure
Hi All, Here I chat to a fellow kidney person - it was filmed over 2 years ago so there is of course an ongoing story for Anoushica's next chapter and indeed mine! (hint: it's all good!). Especially for younger people going through this journey, I hope it inspires you and you feel comforted to know we

A stopgap measure to treat respiratory distress.
Repurposing a drug used for blood clots may help Covid-19 patients in danger of respiratory failure, researchers suggest.
Researchers at MIT and the University of Colorado at Denver have proposed a stopgap measure that they believe could help Covid-19 patients who are in acute respiratory distress

I'm new here
I'm nearing
renal
failure
again & have no wish to restart dialysis. The few loved ones that I've told did not take it well & I'm feeling a bit selfish. I can't seem to find the right way to explain that this is my choice while trying to also comfort them. Any one have any words of wisdom?

This Toilet Roll Stockpiling, What the Hell is that all about?
The Coronavirus will be treatable at some stage, but some people's stupidity is surely terminal. At 82 years old, male, chronic asthma, stage 4 COPD and stage 3 Heart Failure, I reckon I tick all of the boxes and I'm now shopping on line, but I see that is also becoming a victim of panicking people and

End stage COPD palliative care
My Dad has end stage COPD and is now being treated at home as palliative care. I just don't know what to expect and I think that's what I'm struggling with. Dad's oxygen sats are currently 77-81% with no oxygen. I have oxygen for him but it's only to make him comfortable as he is at risk of type 2 respiratory

Requirements for Cardioversion or Catheter Ablation
I am a male, 82 years old and have persistent permanent Afib for at least the last 5 years. I never had symptoms and still don't. My Afib was picked up in a routine check before a minor surgery. After seeing a cardiologist he confirmed the Afib as well as left ventricular heart failure with an ejection

Do immunosuppressants skew thyroid blood results?
I know chronic kidney disease can cause hypothyroidism and I was left to go into complete
renal
failure
, had to dialyse for 2.5 years and nearly four years ago my husband donated a kidney to me.

Dizzy with Nebuliser.
I was given a Nebuliser by my Respiratory Nurse to try. On my 2nd day I'm finding that it does loosen the Sputem but it makes me very dizzy and light headed. As well as COPD I have Heart failure and read somewhere that they're not suitable for people with that. Shall I carry on "Nebulising" or stop

Do anyone need Hemodialysis Home Supplies?
Hi everyone, We are newly home from a liver and kidney transplant and have a large number of dialysis supplies that we no longer need. We had just ended our first week of home dialysis when we got the call for the transplant. The supplies are new and in unopened shipping boxes. I hate to see this go

Day 50: Failure.
It's amazing how much failure is part of every success story I've read about. It's also equally amazing how failure when trying to lose weight brings a sense of self-loathing and giving in. I'm not good enough, I'll always be like this, I'll never lose it etc becomes the cry of those that slip. Instead

Anxious and Scared- Possible Heart Failure and Afib
I had my fourth episode of Afib last week and had a cardioversion and am in NSR. For that I am grateful. The did the BNP blood test and it was super high so the hospitalist diagnosed me with congestive heart failure. This test was elevated last time I had an episode but my cardiologist and family
