Open heart surgery
I had my first meeting with the surgical team at Papworth yesterday . I’m now pencilled in for an aortic valve replacement in June. We discussed my AF , the effects of surgery on episodes after and anticoagulants . Interestingly they stated that oral anticoagulants reduce the risk of stroke by 60/70%

Maternity clothes?
I'm having my next lap next Saturday, and was thinking about what loose clothes I have to wear post surgery. I don't really like loose clothes, but I have so much bloating with my endo / adeno that I am forever walking round at home with my jeans unbuttoned as it's so painful. It just occurred to me

Surgery in 3 weeks. Any post op tips?
I finally have a surgery date after first being referred to gynae August 2022. I had an MRI between this time which confirmed endometriosis so hoping this surgery will help with pain 🤞 Any tips post op? How long did people have off after it? I’m guessing it depends what they actually find when they

Bra tips
Hi, I would like some help. I had some very comfortable supporting bras bought from my heart surgery.Alas these haven't offered much support at all after my breast procedure and became too tight. I had underestimated how big my boob would swell after surgery, the haematoma and seroma didn't help Ideas

lung nodule / proposed surgery / scared and confused
Hello, thank you for this site. My best to all on this site for health and happiness. I’m not even sure where I may be at on this journey but am certainly scared and confused . In March of 2022 I had a kidney stone and a lung nodule was detected on right lower lobe and suggested follow up in 3 -6 months

cataract Surgery
I needed eye surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes, my first eye surgery was in April 2022, I then had to wait for clear vision in eye after surgery before the cataract in my second eye was removed. After both eyes regained clear vision, you need to have an eye test, and possibly get new spectacles

Do I need an Oncologist?
Originally had PSA test that came back 28+ and was referred to Urologist. I was not interested in Surgery so the Urologist referred me to a Radiation Oncologist. After the radiation treatments were over I went back to the Urologist to continue the Lupron treatments. My last visit with the Radiation Team

KNEE SURGERY?
High folks, went to see my consultant a few days ago, asked when I was getting my 1st surgery and we discovered I am NOT on the waiting list. This is apparently due to a CLERICAL ERROR with the orthopedic department. My consultant, lovely person has promised me she will ask for a priority appointment

Nose surgery??
I had a major jaw surgery in 2022 to correct a severe underbite, and resultant chronic pain. I've been super self conscious of my nose (and the rest of my face) since and am having therapy. But I'm also considering getting nose surgery. What are your thoughts? What would you change?

T3 stopped 😡
Hi everyone ❤️ As some of you may know my gp stopped my T3 until I saw the endo on Dec 27th which didn't go well😠.. My gp said I would see the endo before my T3 ran out😂 this of course never happened so she gave me one months supply to tide me over. The appointment with the endo was for thyroid medication

Annual medication review...
Me again...I go to the hospital for my blood tests as it's just easier. The GP however is responsible for issuing it. Today I had an email saying " You are due your yearly routine blood tests for your annual medication review. Please call the surgery.' Last year the pharmacist just called me. Not sure

NHS Endo - South East - Pro T3 - Three referral choices...
Hi, I went T3 only 3 weeks ago after trying combination therapy for 6 months. At around the same I had my local surgery test for blood FBC, blood sugar, cholesterol, calcium folate, B12 Iron etc. This was just to check for my self that I wasn't encountering any other issues. To my surprise they also

advice after surgery/ any advice on natural remedies or how to slow the regrowth of endo?
I had my surgery on Wednesday to investigate my bladder pain. Turns out my bladder is clear but I had a chocolate cyst inside my ovary, and my ovary was stuck to my pelvic wall. I had a different surgeon from before, who indicated that my surgery wasn’t performed properly last time. So I am unsure if

Dad’s story
I’m writing on behalf of my dad who was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis back in 1982 when he was 28. He managed his condition very well with no medication, just diet and a healthy lifestyle until things started getting worse around 12 years ago. He was put on a medication which controlled things
