cataract Surgery

I needed eye surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes, my first eye surgery was in April 2022, I then had to wait for clear vision in eye after surgery before the cataract in my second eye was removed.

After both eyes regained clear vision, you need to have an eye test, and possibly get new spectacles.

With regards to the surgery, you attend the hospital, you have drops put into the eye that the surgery is for….. you are awake during the surgery, which takes about 20 minute, you will feel no pain, but maybe a little pressure on the eye….. there is some uncomfortable pain in the days following surgery, it is bearable, but you are given two types of eye drops to take home for pain relief.

it will take each eye about six to eight weeks to get clear vision, and I promise you, your new sight will be unbelievably clear and bright, with brighter colours.

One thing I would recommend is that you take sun glasses with you on the day of the surgery, and more important…. DO NOT DRIVE YOURSELF….. get someone to take you.

I wrote this reply for ROUKAYA, in answer to her question about Cataract Surgery.

Good afternoon

I hope you are well and thank you for your clear worded explanation of Cataract surgery .

My Mother was diagnosed earlier this year with Cataracts in both eyes .

She is worried and your post is well written.

Thank you

Roukaya…..tell your Mother not to worry about Cataract surgery, there really is no pain during the surgery, I was awake during surgery, and heard the surgeons discussing the wedding they attended the previous weekend…..lol😀

Veteran250, Thank you for your positive post regarding your Cataract surgeries.

I'm happy for you that all went well. As I was reading your post, a song came to mind.

"I can see clearly now, the rain is gone.

I can see all obstacles in my way.

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.

It's going to be a bright, bright sun shiny day"....

(Life is but a song) Take care friend :) xx
